I love how Mrs. Hughes teaches Mr. Carson we will show him that we are kind people because she knows that he really does not know.
She is great, a loving and caring Housekeeper for the Staff

PBS showed every series of DA in four 90 mins episodes so the endings and beginnings of each episode had to be changed

I know, wish they had not cut it! Mrs. Hughes looks like she's about to cry.

Why did they cut that from the UK version? It's one of the best scenes! And it wasn''t even on the DVD. Shame on them!

Sadly this giving of attention to American viewers of English broadcasts which the home audience is denied is not uncommon. Every episode of Foyles War had a superb pre broadcast showing the real history the episode occurs in and the major events, which was not broadcast in Britain.
