I started out offroading in the '70s with a Ford V8 Pilot car, cut down to a flatdeck, shortened 14 inches, Ford Murcury 1950 flathead, two 4 speed gear boxes in line and dual rear wheels. When things got scary, we chucked a hollow stone block on the accelerator and stood on the running boards. The old girl never failed me in the Uruwera river valleys.
