It's amazing how many talented people get their businesses started in backyards and garages. The finished backlit fairing is awesome. Great design and build.
Nice seeing that even the pros use cardboard templates and love the solar panel gymnastics! LOL! Can't say we've seen anyone else add a fairing. Nice idea and neat design!
Thanks for watching! Hehe, it looks like such a comfy spot under the panels. Very happy with how it all came together! At times there was loud music playing in the shop so I felt like I had to remake the vibe! 😎🤘🏼
I thought I was having some noise but realize it's my Maxxfan rattling (which I've heard a lot of people get). There was no other noise. Mainly I thought it would be cool so definitely for looks 😎 but also figure it might help with aerodynamics. Less force pushing on the solar panels from underneath at least

Just a quick question am in the middle of planning my 8020 roof rack for my citroen relay same van as yours so just wondering if you needed to fit the deflector due to wind noise or vibration? Cheers
I didn't have any wind noise that I noticed but I figured with the solar panels, deflecting the wind above them would maybe make the gas economy a little better and have less stress on the mounts. Let me know if you have any questions on the 8020 rack, I built my own as well
@@Trailvagabonds awesome thanks! Makes sense. I have watched your videos on the rack a few times and I'll be sure to ask you then if am needing help 👍, I will be ordering the unaka roof brackets from the states and my profile from Germany unfortunately its not so easy to get these in the uk! And trying to get a company to help make cnc brackets is almost impossible or just charge you a fortune, so need to make sure I order everything required as I will have import, carriage and vat fees to add. Cheers again

Agreed! And thank you! I'm so happy with how it turned out! Much better than I ever expected! 😊

Welcome Back!! Loved the wind deflector. Halfway thru I said to myself “ He is having it painted right??”…. LOL…. Of course!
😂 Could go without painting it black! Hopefully we can get into the swing of regular videos again 😬
Beautiful my dude!!! This is rad as hell! Just happy to see a new vid also!
Thanks brother! Yea it's been awhile. Hoping to get into the swing of editing again. Moving cross country is a lot 😂
Thank you for bringing your cool idea to us! We love fun projects!
I'm glad I did! Thanks so much for an amazing job bringing it to life! 😊
Awesomeness!
Thanks! 😎
That’s awesome! Great look and the lights come through!! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
Yea, very pleased they show so well! 😊
Another well done video. First class all the way Matt!
Thank you! That means a lot to hear! 😊
That looks nice. We’re you having Noise issues with your rack? Or was it for looks? I like it

I like the wind fairing!! did it cut down on any wind noise??
We actually didn't have a ton of wind noise prior. My main hope was mpgs but I didn't notice much help there either 😂 I'm happy it looks cool though 😎
I probably missed it in the video... I am assuming this is aluminum? What thickness? Thanks
Yep it is aluminum, I'll have to double check on the thickness because I don't remember off hand. I'll get back to you on that
