Thanks for the tips, especially regarding the memory foam and bedding. My 2014 Tundra is one of the rare 2-door models, but there is an amazing amount of room in the rear part of the cab. If I fold the front seats forward, and rig a platform, in place of the rear seating that is not there, it could be quite nice for one person and our mighty little furpeople. As it is, I have gotten by, for up to four days of travel, two days out and two days back, by reclining a front seat, and propping my feet up, I would like to do some longer, somewhat more open-ended travel, so, it is time to rig a platform, with real memory foam. (I would like to start letting someone else do the driving, but, trains, buses, and airlines are not good ways to travel with three or four dogs, plus, I like to be able to stop just about anywhere, and take pictures.)
I do something very similar. Drive a RaM do the backseat space is huge. There is do much storage in my truck bed (is a shortbed) that I can fit an fridge, cooking, emergency tools, and much more. Still do much Xtra space that I had to put in an empty Rubbermaid tub to keep everything in place. I too enjoy being in the back seat. I fit perfectly. I also have a tent and trailer but the backseat is the most convenient and fast.
Did you store the foam in anything so it didn't get wet or dirty? Or did you have the back seat setup for sleeping right away when you left the house? On my long road trip I'm planning, having the bed already setup might be the best plan. IDK
It’s been awhile so I had to go back and look. 😅 I had it set up. Since I had the truck bed for storage I didn’t feel cramped for space and so having it set up was the easiest way to go for me. If I did need to keep anything on it during transport, I would move it to the front seat at night or at the stop. I did put up anything hanging at the stop itself though. Hope this helps! Have fun on your adventure!
shugster2 I thought about it but we went with a travel trailer instead. This was a solution for when we nearly totaled it but I still wanted to be on the road.
@@cesarbriones3501 yeah it’s a 2019 Toyota Tundra Crew Cab. Is that the width from the back of the seat to the back of the front seat maybe? There was a lot of room in there. We no longer have the truck or I would go investigate measurements. I was able to lay flat and comfortably from window to window.
I have a 2012 Tundra, I used to drive across the USA 6 times a yr. & i used to sleep in the back seat all the time. It was so convenient.
Im 5'7 would i fit not bending?
That little dog is a sweetheart. Great camping buddy.
Thank you! I think so too!

I've been car camping & truck camping since the 80's. I like my tundra, it has done everything I need to do.
Nicely Done, I have a 02 F150 supercrew cab, I will try your setup, safe travels, Thank you 🙏.
Hope it went well!
Thanks, this is exactly what I needed!
Good job and clever ideas
Thank you!
I’ve been looking at the tundra’s. There so reliable!!
Grant Shepherd We love ours!
Shadow is precious too
Great video, keep them coming
Thank you! I appreciate it!
Very well done
Okay well this just saved me a few hundred $
I do something similar with a tacoma access cab. Works great
Great first setup. I would substitute a big backpack or laundry duffle for the pillow between the tote boxes. More storage.
Thanks for the ideas
Great features, what a beautiful person.
Thank you!!
I like your setup. I could'nt tell if you have a crew max or double cab.
It’s a crew max. Thanks!

Very cool.
great video! what’s the length in between the rear doors?
@@KtP370 then i wouldnt fit if im 5'8? Lol ill try sleeping in the front seat then.
Could you link those storage bins?
Is that a crew cab? It seems a little bit bigger than mine. I love my 2011 Tundra.
Yes it is. We loved ours too!
What’s the mattress you got?
One time it’s good to be short
You should purchase a camper shell.

I don’t think that peppermint diffuser is good for the doggies.
Looks comfy except I am 6’ tall and thinking I am going to be squished.
You could manage if you slept at an angle. I’m 5.9 and a half and it was comfortable. 6ft might be stretching it though.
why dont you get a camper that has a window that can conect to the truck if you lower the rear window it would be cool
You didnt show how beautiful your Tundra is from the outside, dont get a camper shell i think it ruins the look of a beautiful pick up. Looks fun🏕
is this tundra crew cab? also i am 5'8", do you think i can sleep comfortably?
Yes, you can. I’m 5.9 and a half and was comfortable! Let me know how it goes!!
Yes it is a crew cab.
@@stephanator1.0 thats stretching out fully? Idk why i search up and it says its 66inches wide.

I'm 5'8", have a 2019 double cab, can I lie flat in it?
i guess its a nice idea if your short... lol
