Amazing video. I myself am not a native English speaker so I too see English steadily creeping its way into everyday-life. It's almost easier to find media in English than in my native language. It's definitely easier to navigate the capital in English than in my native language. It's almost completely possible for someone without even a grasp of my native language to live here comfortably. There's even been some demand to make English one of our official languages.
    It's becoming all-consuming.

I wonder how true Bellos' final statement is. One of the biggest drivers of one language splitting into many others is isolation, but mass media and the internet kinda negates that. Just look at Icelandic - it defferentiated itself from old norse because of how seperated the island was, but once globalised communication comes in that seperation isn't so important anymore. Languages will still evolve, but overall diversity is plummeting.
