I use the Dreamkeeprs as my main working deck and I’m personally in love with it. It just seems to get me and I love the more well dream-like style, although the lack of diversity does bother me. I loved hearing you’re perspective ☺️
I use Ceccoli deck more as an oracle, intuitive deck, This one I use for inner child healing, and to give my toddler self that was abused to empower her and give her space to express herself. the LWB is pretty decent about explaining the unusual ones.
Unfair tarot comparisons is my favourite thing on RUclips right now! Thoroughly enjoyed this video. I’ve wanted the dreamkeepers but I haven’t really looked at it. Still not sure about it. I have always had a knee jerk physical repulsion to the ceccoli tarot. Hearing your description of it and my abusive childhood...makes a lot of sense. I guess I still have some unhealed trauma. 🤷🏼♀️ Thanks for sharing, you’re always a pleasure. ♥️♥️♥️
I know this video is an older one but thought I would throw in a quick comment. I think the cecolli deck is actually a well thought out deck. There's lots of symbolism in it if you read all that . An example you mention the magician doesn't look magiciany...the elements are all there tho...so the bird in the cage represents air/swords (there's tons of animal elements in this deck). The cage is the vessel and vessels hold things right so represents water/cups... the staff is simply the wand/fire and the animal is a land animal and represents earth/coins. There's alsorts of things you can find in this deck...like the toys...those wooden pyramid things represent the elements also. That drum in the fool card...doesn't the white triangles on it look like mountains that he's stood on? And the drumstick in his hand look like his little napsack! There is so much in this deck...I think its pretty cunning and I wonder if the artist knew anything about tarot or its lo scarabeo doing an excellent job, cos everything is there! Sorry for ramble I'm just using both these decks this month and it's cool to look at them side by side.
How is the cardstock on the Dreamkeepers? Does it feel similar to the Ceccoli, or more cardboardy? Oh wow, an updated Reviving Ophelia? That book was very important to me when my daughter was growing up in the 90s. In fact, reading it brought up a lot of issues for me! Which I have been working on resolving ever since :)
Cardstock on Dreamkeepers is probably a little thinner than Ceccoli, but not cardboardy. This is from memory as I no longer have either of these decks. Dreamkeepers was fun to riffle shuffle, but it had a strange chemical smell. Reviving Ophelia was a dense book that I'm glad I read. It gave me some perspectives of the contrast between adolescent girl mentality from the 60s versus the 90s versus 2010s. Great book!

Thank you! It is a gorgeous deck, for sure.

I do like the LWB. It is simple and kind of poetic. Thanks for the reminder!

Thank you so much! Yeah, I don't know if my problems with Ceccoli mean I need that deck or just don't like it. Keep!
