It's not true that ADHD people can't concentrate on a video for a long time. If a subject interests them they can be razor focused for long periods of time

@@sawalhaadderleysI'm part of a homeschooling co op. Many of our kids have ADHD. If you can teach a subject in a way that stimulates them, we can go for hours

Sooo interesting.. thank you for being so open and honest as I know it’s not easy being so vulnerable about our mental health but it really does help not just others but yourself when sharing, a huge strength in that.. 🥰💛 xxx

I’m already on the autism spectrum, and a lot of your struggles really resonate with me regarding ADHD (which isn’t uncommon in autistic people). I’m going to see if I can be assessed for it because I REALLY struggle with procrastination, lack of focus and seeing a task through to the end 😆. If I could find something to help me with these it would be incredible.
Thanks for sharing this, Nadia. Much 💛 to you and the family.
Btw - the cinematic looks amazing! Which phone did you get? I want my videos to look like this 🤩

Nadia, please read ‘Scattered Minds’ by Gabor Maté, which is about ADHD.
He is the leading thinker on ADHD, as well as addiction (‘In The Realm of Hungry Ghosts’)

My husband has just been diagnosed with ADHD at the of 71. Transformative. Along with medication we are doing lots of talking about the positives we have both noticed. The hardest part is him wondering what ‘could have been’ had he been diagnosed earlier.

I am also on Vyvanse ( Lisdexamfetamine ) & I was thinking the same as you about increasing but also found out your brain adapts to the current dose & dopamine levels reach a point & you need more which is why they do up it again. I just get scared of having “ the crash in the evening “ Besides the stimulant & dopamine stuff I only ever have heard positive stuff about this one ❤

Great video Nadia I like your ADHD series, Im autistic and I don't take medication but it is still a challenge for me with some situations but I find stuff to make me cope. I also have a learning disability so having that can make life a bit harder but I still try to get on well. Great video

Nadia please please please more of this … make them as long as possible I’m ADHD diagnosed 5/12/2022 I’m 52 two children 33 and 22, 3 grandchildren. Now it’s about me my life has been so defined by combined ADHD but I wasn’t aware .. I’m a go getter active mum, Nan, adult mental health nurse. I’ve taken 6 months out to focus on me. I have high Intensity CBT booked awaiting a slot. Do share as much as possible and I will to, it’s fascinating and I can’t believe I missed it in myself … Jees haha !! Xx

I was on concerta for a yr n a half I achieved so much n felt like I could cope with life ..however like you I worry about blood pressure n I'm generally scared of pharmaceuticals.. iv stopped them but I will say it was a incredibly eye opening experience.. Iv been trying to keep the same routine I did while on them but my mind is chaotic again.. but I was saying to my partner even though many times iv said to him I'd be stupid to stop them.. I also said this last week maybe it's OK to be me who I am.. I went into my adhd diagnosis with self hatred for who I am my whole life.. experiencing medication has almost sealed the deal that I am actually nurodiverce and that's OK now.. I no longer cry after my sons perents evenings because I accept myself more and am so soooo much kinder to myself.. my only down side I had on meds was my lack of appetite n the constant need to do everything I couldn't do properly pre meds so I was causing alot of anxcity for myself n started feeling week.. I now eat alot of food again so that's not ideal but was hard it was like one extreme to another for me..but other than that I don't regret giving meds ago.. I still don't know if il stop them forever but I definitely think there's alot of benifits to experiencing them even if you don't want too long term xx

You are very beautiful and very smart as well as kind and fun. I’m glad meds are helping. Interested in your struggle to accept diagnosis and meds. One day at a time I guess. Self acceptance and self compassion always good.❤️

Sorry if I sound selfish with my last comment I’m just soo in need of as much info as possible, I’m doing my own research too, I just feel so passionately about our age group as it’s been missed with us, I am also reflecting let’s all stick together and share as much as possible on this unrealised path 💪❤️ xx

I was tested at 15. They said I didn’t have it!!! But at the age of 32; I found out I had Hydrosephilis sp? Anyway, after 3 brain surgeries later. I got through school but it was very hard. I still go for yearly visits with my brain surgeon. He is my hero🎉 It’s such a long story but have been told I should write a book. I just am not good at organizing my thoughts.😮😮😮

I thought ADHD Meds can just be taken as and when. So when you want to do a big organisation or a new project could you just take them then?
