While heading to Mission to film a few trains and crossings in the area, I learned there was an eastbound on the Yale Sub. So, I headed over to this crossing with its new signals to film it once it crossed the Mission bridge. After about half an hour of waiting, the train was visible in the distance. The crossing then activated, and this eastbound CN manifest (what I assume is CN A416) came rolling through with a freshly-rebuilt AC44C6M rebuild leading, and an ex-GECX demonstrator ET44AC working as mid-DPU.
Since my first video of this crossing in 2022, there has been quite a big change to the crossing. Due to the signaling system being upgraded around Mission (replacing the old Searchlight signal system with modern LED Vader ones), the crossing signals were also replaced with modern Siemens ones. Something notable with these post-merger crossing installations is moving towards the US standard of lights that CP used down there, being Safetran 12x24s instead of WCH 12x20s. It appears the lights on the near signal were reused from the previous signals. Personally, I think it was a bit of a waste replacing the 20-year old Safetran signals with Siemens ones, but it is what it is I guess.
