Great review Josh. I'm a long distance swimmer, my swim sessions are 2 hour long with an average of 5.5k distance, so to me heart rate is not essentially all that important as a real-time metric that I would need because I can tell if I'm overexerting myself due to poor technique or simply putting too much power where it's not needed. I've grown to be attuned to gauging that on my own. My Garmin Swim 2 does pick up my heart rate and I do use that heart rate metric that tells e whether I've had an efficient swim when I couple that with my distance. I'm going to order this goggle because I did try the Form 1 goggle and it gave me tunnel vision, and that was quite distracting. My Garmin will buzz half way through my swim to let me know where I'm at but having real-time pace reading will tell me what to tweak in my technique which to me is the game changer. I'll update my comment after having used it. Cheers from Ontario, Canada!
Ok, I did my first swim with these goggles yesterday. My initial verdict: Very good. The only thing it did not measure accurately is my stroke count, but aside from that it did an excellent job of counting my laps (which to me is super important). It also displayed my pace after each lap completion which enabled me to tweak my technique from lap to lap to get a better pace. I managed to shave 8 full seconds per 100 yards on my first swim with these goggles! My Garmin Swim 2 has trouble with counting my laps. Full disclosure , I'm learning a new technique so my strokes are not as "standard" as you would expect and I'm guessing that would cause Garmin to over-count my laps. However, Garmin does a pretty decent job of counting my strokes; I'm guessing because I'm the Garmin is a watch and it's easier to detect through accelerometer each distinct stroke. The Holoswim on the other hand does an excellent job of counting my laps but over-counts my strokes, and I'm guessing because it's harder to detect this when the accelerometer is mounted far away from the limb that's performing the stroke _ that's my hypothesis :-) .
For anti-fogging, I do what i usually do with all my other goggles, which is applying a baby shampoo solution of 1 part to 3 water the night before the swim, let it dry off then before the swim I pass the goggles through the water 10 times , don't touch the inside surface and put on the goggles. Works perfectly every time. I found the instruction to rub the inside of the Holoswim lenses with a micro fiber fabric after damping the lenses to be something that is too intrusive and is prone to accidental or unintended denaturing of the lens surfaces. I'm no expert on this matter and have no hard data to back this up, but I can tell you that the 1/3 shampoo to water technique has worked for me without fail, even on 5 hour swims.
After my 2 hour swim, the goggles were at 60% charge, I'm ok with that.
I hope they keep on performing as time goes on. I'm opt to keep them and will be using them on my daily swims _ they are, without trying to sound hyperbolic, a game changer when it comes to self-coaching.

I’m still sore for your earlier recommendation of magic 5 Josh, they were a disaster for me. I’ve recently got the Form 2 goggles and done 5 pool sessions (about 20km total), no open water yet. Jury is still out. I don’t find them comfortable, I have to wear them tight to overcome the height of the goggle which was dragging on starts/turns and letting in water. Visibility is very compromised. The info is nice but not sure it adds much more above a Garmin watch and it doesn’t give accurate real time pace, only after you finish a rep. Having rest intervals in front of your eyes with no button pressing is nice. Persevering for now

Polar HR monitor coupling works perfectly fine on the "other goggles" and it is a game changer indeed :)

Ok, I didn't try form or this goggles because I need plus glasses for reading (sucks to be old, lol). And don't get any assurance that I will be able to see numbers. I don't care about workouts as I swim with masters but form's ability to go on the straight line sounds appealing not gonna lie!
