    What videos would you like to see from Brian first?

    • @PKCPA69
      @PKCPA69 4 месяца назад +6

      I read your articles in HL first for every new issue, and I was happy to see such a worthy successor to the legendary Ken Waters for the Pet Loads column. My interests lean mostly towards revolvers and bullet casting, especially Keith designs. I have a couple ideas for videos. I am particularly interested in your McPhee mold, the old Ideal 429421 you wrote an article on maybe 10 or so years ago. Would you be able to do a short video of that mold with come close up shots, and maybe include how it differs from the current Lyman variant for better or worse? Another idea, maybe a video series on your favorite molds in each caliber?

      Would love a series of videos featuring all those classic handguns you touched on in the intro video. I remember a story of a trade for a Walther PP from a friend??? Ended up on the gate post or something ? You have such a great collection. Certainly would love to watch them go bang as well !

      It would be fun to have Brian revisit his Handloader magazine article on Elmer's 600 yd. shot on the wounded deer. Most people have no idea what can be accomplished with a good pistol and a proven load.

      @@PKCPA69 Great idea. Casting bullets would be a great series. And showing off those outstanding revolvers. Maybe a couple per episode talking about if they had any work done to them. A close look at them both sides.

    Hi Brian. My name is Greg Perry, and I have been a fan of yours since March 4, 1997. On that day my middle daughter Jane was born. While my wife was taking a nap in her hospital room and Jane was in the nursery getting a bath, I walked across the street to a bookstore and bought a copy of Peterson's Handguns magazine. You had an article on top handloads for the .45 Colt, I became hooked on your byline, and have been a huge fan ever since. I now read you every month in Wolfe's Rifle and Handloader magazines. This is great to see that you are now on RUclips. How about a video of you demonstrating some long range sixgunning with some of your favorite classic revolvers?

    Brian so nice to see you joining your sons as I’m sure they welcome dad‘s tutelage. I’ve been a huge fan since the Wolfe Publishing days (rifle/handloader/successful hunter) I believe you penned a few articles in the short lived Successful Hunter Magazine. Fondly remember you telling a story of John Wayne and your family moving horses for Duke as he knew your father if I recall correctly. I’m sure everyone would love to hear more of your ranching stories along with hunting tales. Aside from firearms, hand loading and hunting one could always ascertain that you were a man of fine character and strong work ethic. Thank you for sharing your valuable time and I look forward.

Loved your hunting adventures as much as your technical articles. Seeing your rifle bungee corded to the strut of the bush plane over Alaska gave me anxiety. Looking forward to learning about these very important firearms and what made them important and how they have opened the doors for the modern day arms.

    We have similar tastes in handguns and rifles. It is a coincidence that I have a Ruger Blackhawk in 44 Rem Mag with serial number 76. I think the coolest thing you could have him do is to describe how he evaluates a used rifle that he is looking at buying. He can slow down a bit. He has fantastic knowledge and we could listen to him all day.

It's a S&W Hand Ejector chambered in 38 Special, 4" barrel made in 1953 and as far as I can tell, it's never been fired. I ordered off of an auction site for a fair price but I didn't realize just how nice it was until I picked it up at the gun shop. Brian, where do you put the Ruger GP100 44 Special on your tier list? SAAMI pressure only, or is it +P capable?

    • @PearceBrothersGearGuide
      @PearceBrothersGearGuide  4 месяца назад +2

      I have never shot or even handled a gp100 in 44 special. Until I do that, I will not recommend any +p loads. However 8.2 grains of alliant Power Pistol with the 250 grain Keith bullet will give 1000 fps and is NOT a +p load.

    • @PearceBrothersGearGuide
      @PearceBrothersGearGuide  4 месяца назад

      I have a lot of originals from the late 1800s to early 1900s. The modern made ones are from Paul Persinger but he's not accepting new work right now. These grips are pretty hard to come by.

    can you give some information on reloading for black powder 1858 revolver that has a conversion cylinder in it. It is chambered in 45 colt.

    • @PearceBrothersGearGuide
      @PearceBrothersGearGuide  3 месяца назад +1

      The 1858 is a solid frame so standard pressure loads are your best option. The best answer would be to buy Handloader issue 320. That has some good info on standard pressure loads for a 45 Colt. Do you have specific load you are looking to develop?
