we never get anything like this in the UK. In th States you guys are so fortunate to have the opportunity to purchase lots like this and sales seem to be all over the country.
This was interesting to me. I'm a longtime collector (1969) of comics and last May, i picked up 10,000 books from a closed comic shop. The books were from 1977-1990 and mostly Marvel and DC. The boxes were horrible as were the bags and boards(All had to be replaced) I purchased it for $500 from a guy who held on to it for 25+ years thinking it was a gold mine, but refused to do any footwork on the books (He is a person who knows nothing about comics) I offered him $500 6 months earlier, he refused, but this time I pulled out the money (5 $100 bills) and apparently THAT did the trick. Do you find that the sight of cash makes a difference? Great video!
Man! What a haul. I love the networking you have set up. Especially with the estate purchasing gentlemen. Genius. Just starting up and making some good deals for that .10-.20 cent range! Thanks for all the tips Dom. Finding a nice grove thanks to you and Mrs. Primetime.
@@PrimeTimeTreasureHunter You're not missing much a fair amount of very old things some good pubs, other than that most of the rough edges have been sanded off and we're just like any other bland western culture in many respects. There's also some beautiful countryside but I'm guessing your vast continent has got that covered. Ah Doctor Who I watched it during the unpopular Sylvester McCoy phase as a boy I always wanted to get more into it but the older classic Pertwee and Baker stuff was hard to come by back in the days of four channels.
Prime Time Treasure Hunter definitely looking for some infinity gauntlet, crisis on infinite earths, and some amazing spider-man that I had noticed! Maybe some other stuff as well depending on what you have!
My dream is to find a good sized silver and bronze age comic collection in a garage sale and keep what I need and sell the rest after rebagging and boarding.
This is where your life long collections end up. You die your stuff goes unappreciated and put in circulation for the next guy to collect. I’m sure the guy that had this collection did not wanna part with it until the very end. I myself collect children’s books 1st edition and the British comics eagle and I know that when I pass on if I don’t leave notes on the collection they will be sold off for a song but then again somebody that appreciates the collection will look after it eventually
Thanks Andrea. I go by market value based on eBay completed solds and current asking price for ongoing sales. But, for a quick reference to get a general sense you can go to comics price guide.org. Be aware though that there is a big difference between price guide value and market value. As a seller, you have to focus on the market value as opposed to the price guide value.
I’m not sure that He has a go-to point of reference for Comic Books. He simply makes a low-ball offer, then if He’s successful in buying them He THEN does the research to determine which ones have any true Collector value, then He goes from there. As a Collector/ Dealer of Comic Books I’ve been able to determine a person’s “modus operandi” pretty quickly to determine how they, on their end, operate. If a person is truly nieve about what they have that allows Me a certain measure of freedom to work with - this gentleman is no different! Cheaper is always better when buying Comic Books, as it provides the purchaser with a greater amount of profit per Book! I wouldn’t have hesitated in paying the guy $800-$1,000 for those Books, as I would say that He could easily sell a short-box worth of Books and make ALL of His $ back, with 3,800+ Books to realize a profit from the sale there of! No, offense to this buyer, but He basically “stole” those Books from the guy - He made a Hell of a good (read: profitable) Buy! :€)
@@markturley9542 . Always depends on the books. He clearly didn’t look at every book and bought a lot on faith. Don’t forget the Time/effort/money to put into selling these books. Sure the “profit” is higher the cheaper the books, but don’t think that his time and effort is worth zero dollars.
@@knuffer74 lol, I'm the one laughing because I bought the entire collection and went through all of the books later. That was just a quick skim through in the shed.

Spider man 361 1st+2nd prints, multiple infinity guantlet #1,venom vs carnage,.so much good stuff..you hit the jackpot...
Exactly. So much for the guy who wrote in saying the collection was worthless. lol

That first carnage is worth 3-4x what you paid today
Yep. Just sold it the other day

Sure. What are you interested in
Im interested in golden age batman 1-10 or venom/carnage books
Hey man what do you pay for all the Comics ?
I thought I said in the video. Thinking back it was a few hundred
Leon Gro. Didn't he say $500 and a side deal to get future comics.
Robert T ah ok thanks
Im rich from comics the price is up
It’s insane right now
Can I be his sports card guy????????
😂😂😂
The way hes handling those comics they will be worth nothing was literally watching him destroy the corners on them......
Wrong. They sold just fine.

Nope. Literally caused no damage to those comics. They are more resilient than you think. Chill.
Dude I have a hard time believing this is legit. You can not have that many good books in a box that small.
100% legit. Promise. That’s literally the scene and me seeing thx books for the first time.
@@PrimeTimeTreasureHunter awesome score then. did you get anything else cool?
bob johnson sure, but it was so long ago and the collection got mixed in with others that I can’t even tell you. I have tens of thousands of comics.
