5:43 all cannibalism and homicidal tendencies aside qi rong most of the type tried to hype up his cousin and while yes he idolized him, after that he’s known for a while his cousin isn’t perfect but still thinks highly of him behind all of the ‘SO UR NOT SO NICE AFTER ALL COUSIN CROWN PRINCE’ stuff and I like to believe qi rong and xie lian genuinely care for each other because we’ve seen xie lian doesn’t always agree with qi rong but still loves him and qi rong is shown to be capable of affection bc of the ending where he saved guzi, and qi rong loves guzi because he sees guzi as family and xie lian actually being family implies qi rong loves him too and can you tell that this is coming from someone with a lot of cousins
From reading the backstories and scenes from the novel, I can agree with you! Especially from the understanding of their relationship in the past and the certain events that occurred throughout
