    Nice, i'ts a good price to performance product imo, good job on spotting the issues, might be buying one machine soon.

    How long does it take to produce 1 kg of 1.75 filament?

    Wow! Great setup Vertical orientation definitely seems like the way to go judging by the results I've seen being achieved by other users on youtube with this in the horizontal orientation (diameter of filament jumping around all over the place). Do you think that this machine would be capable of extruding polycarbonate? THANK YOU!

  • @Tamesi1
    @Tamesi1 2 года назад +1

    Yes, some material may need drying prior to extruding them, it is due to humidity or affinity of material to balance with ambient exposure (the more carbon chain in the molecular structure , the more hygroscopic material becomes ) . In PET extrusion, its important to use only the side parts of container not the tops , this due to PET condition of molecule orientation of PET , sides that were exposed to high pressure are much better than using the areas of the bottle necks or sections that did not received high pressure while blow molding bottle.
    Thanks for the video, it has helped me to decide to buy the mini extruder , question, does it works better for you to position it vertical than horizontal? is it due extruded melting ? is it possible to place a cooling fan or water tray when going out of to cool it faster?

      It works better vertically because gravity helps to push it down.
      There is cooling fan at the end, didn't you see ?

    Nice. I too had to machine apart to unclog the screw. No big deal. And I extrude TPV.

    I'm trying to extrude powdered PLA but it sticks inside the tube and chocks the nozzle. Any advice?

    Hey, Tony! I'm considering buying a wellzone extruder, tell me, is yours still working properly? Che il Dio sia con te!

    Hello Tony, what do you think, is possible to make filament from pet bottle with this macsine if you cut the bottle in small pieces?

  • @Masterpj555

    Hi tony.. how do you control the diameter of the filament? how big is the diameter variation?

    • @tonycstech
      @tonycstech  2 года назад +3

      Ambient temperature.
      Length of the filament sag before it enters the loop.
      Extrusion speed.
      Extrusion temperature.
      Nozzle diameter.
      I start with tinkering with those that are easiest to fix.
      Eliminate them one by one.
      1st get consistent diameter and then change one or another variable to see the effect.
      It's a learning process.
      I could get it very accurate, 0.05mm error in average.

    Hi! Were you able to convert PET bottles into filament with this machine?

    • @tonycstech
      @tonycstech  2 года назад +1

      Most likely not. Need temperatures up to 300C

    • @FALLAXT
      @FALLAXT 11 месяцев назад

      how high can you go with it? ali only states "under 300C". also PET has a melting point of 250 - I dont know if you have to exceed this to get a nice result but in theory it could work. maybe?@@tonycstech

    3:00 i would consider it when a real feeder screw was in there, i alredy though in the first video that this isnt one and i was right.

      If it had proper extrusion/compression screw, it would be the best extruder for home diy.
      The screw it came with is nothing special and so is the barrel made from plain steel not even stainless so it's sticks plastic to it's self and become rough overtime slowly dying.
      I've extruded allot of plastic over the years and it's dying. I cannot extrude pla anymore, only petg or abs. Pla stick too much now so I have to replace the barrel and the screw.

      @@tonycstech He means in that "downright position". I personally see the logic in it, as gravity will streamline the pallets more uniformly.
