You have to go up the chain. If it loses here then it's appealed at my supreme court, circuit, then supreme (I might be missing a step). But any one of these can find a fault with the appeal and kick it down, reject, or pass it upward.

So people understand Trump had to pay for saying his property was worth a certain amount. Not for missing payments or being delinquent on the loans. Self appraisal of assets happens every day in the US. A similar instance is when you have a classic car and the insurance asks you to appraise it in order to cover it completely. You can appraise it at $10 million if you want. You just have to pay that amount. Trumps property may have some historical value as well as the basic property worth.

A contract of sorts was drawn up, contract appraises at xx value but also advises the bank should do their own due diligence and get it appraised...which wasn't allowed to be presented in this case. The bank even stated they would have done business regardless based on their own standards and how wealthy trump was. No one was frauded, all parties came out in total agreement and wealthier in the end. No public aspects in vovled in this case, and they used Florida property for a NY state case....how again is this not about private negotiations?

To say that the bank did change its policies towards the Trump organization AFTER the state filed its charges as evidence that the bank itself had problems with the Trump organization’s assessments only supports the damages the Trump organization realized as a result of this litigation. The bank has a responsibility to its shareholders to take any claims or allegations seriously. Even after review, the bank found no problems and expressed interest in continuing business partnerships in the future.

I never got this. Every bank has a right to do their own appraisals. Trump even had a disclosure in his loan app papers that says they may do thier own appraisals, inspections and investigations as they see fit.
If you knowingly inflate the value of your assets, or lie about your properties in a way that increases their value, even if the bank fails to do their full due diligence, it is still illegal.

15:48 - $18-$20million valuation by the NY Supreme Court (fyi: this is a confusing title since typically the highest court of the State is given the ‘Supreme Court’ label, not the 1st level 🙇🏾♀️🤷🏽♀️) is beyond laughable.. It is such a clear & brazen undervaluation of that property that anyone, including a 6th grade drop-out, can see that is the case!
The land alone (w/o the golf course, the buildings, the memberships, landscaping, etc) would very likely sell for more than $20 million!
It seems to be the Judge & NY AG sending a public message of their power!
The $18-$20million valuation was made by the FL state tax assessor

It confused me as well. I didn’t know this went to the Supreme Court, and it did so for its first stop.

I understand what they are saying but i find it difficult to understand the concept that if a property was evaluated and appraised by two sophisticated parties and both parties ended the agreement without loss that their was risk to the public (even if it ended bably there still would be no risk). Especially when considering the fact that an independent valuation was sought and the further fact that the loan received vs the assets independently valued amount would be heavily in the favor of the lender.
