It's sad that they kinda drifted apart, but it's a reality of growing up. They couldn't live in each other's pockets anymore. The more people they met, the wider their worlds became and their paths diverged. They'd always be friends, but just as Scott has the whole supernatural world in front of him, Stiles has an entire world to conquer too. I'd always imagine Scott as an alpha with a reputation while Stiles as a reknowned fbi agent.
I think the did because They have been to hell and back about 150 times and that takes alot out emotionally physically and even in this tv show they never seem to talk about their emotions indepth and when they do its to an authority figure never to one another. their to people with a ton of baggage thats been pent up for years .
they may not be as talkative and expressive as they were in the first seasons but they will always be close and brothers. i was kinda annoyed that stiles wasn’t in the last season a lot
