How do you turn corners ( evenly ) with a decorative top stitch?

I always suggest you do a test run on the fabric you are using first. Try measuring the length of the project to the corner and divide it by the length of the stitch - you will be dealing in fractions most likely... Adjust the length of the decorative stitch if you can. You can only do this by a small amount not to distort the stitch design. The other option is to work the fabric as you stitch by slighting holding it back or stretching it as you stitch. A lot depend on the behavior of the fabric, you don't want to distort it. If you can leave an option of extra fabric at the corner where you are turning and then cut the project down it will be the best option but that is not always possible. Also stabilizer will help to keep the fabric from drawing up or being inconsistent in feeding smoothly. Thank you for asking the question - it's a good one. I hope this is helpful.
