I continue to really enjoy watching your videos! The level of detail you go into really helps me a lot. Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to make such well thought out videos.
Hello new flower friend! I love your videos! This is my first time growing ranunculus this spring too. Lots of greens. No buds. Yet...fingers crossed! 🤞🏻 lol
I have watched your videos over the last few months and I had no idea you were in SW Michigan! I am only an hour from you! Wishing you a great 2023 season :)
Thanks for sharing Britney! They look great! I am growing ranuncs for the first time this year in my raised beds in SE GR. Out of 20 corms only about 12 look good with buds and some blooms. I’ve harvested 3 beautiful blooms but the stems are short (4”) even though I ordered them from a reputable grower and they should be taller. Maybe our super cold spring? So many factors but I love these and hope to have success eventually. Love seeing the progress of yours.
Awe thank you! I agree, there are a lot of factors that go into it- which can make it hard to troubleshoot. I'm happy that you're having some success though. Even if they're not quite how you imagined them, the fact that they're blooming must mean you're doing something right!
If you look in our "shorts" feed I did just recently post a snapshot of our results. This method worked great for us and I will be doing a better update video this spring 💛
Great video! I just received an order of ranunculus and am going to try them in crates. I'm afraid it's too late in the season to just be starting them (zone 4b) when my other ones are in the ground, but I'll give it a whirl. Hoping you'll show us in upcoming videos, but I'm curious what varieties you have and if you ordered from any non-wholesale places. Always on the lookout for new sources! Thanks
Good luck! I hope yours turn out! I'm hoping I'll be able to show some good results in an upcoming video. This year I planted Amandine Pink, Juliette, and Marshmallow. The pictures of these varieties look beautiful so fingers crossed something blooms! I wish I could be more helpful in offering sources, but these corms, I did purchase from my wholesaler. This being my first year growing them, I've never purchased them non-wholesale. I do follow a lot of more experienced flower farmers on Instagram/social media and a lot of them do offer bulb and corm sales in the fall- I'm betting someone like that would be a great source for smaller quantities of corms!
@@twosistersflowerfarm Thank you! You're right, I have seen Flower Farmers mention sales. I should start a list so I'm ready when fall rolls around and I can be on the lookout for corms then. Looking forward to seeing your beautiful flowers bloom :)
I hope it worked well for you! I was really happy how well mine flowered! I will take them out of the soil soon. While I don't have plans to grow a summer crop in them, I am going to try forcing tulip bulbs this winter and I will be using these crates to do that :)
Awesome! Did they turn out? And how many did you plant? I’m in the same zone just over the border in 🇨🇦 and would love to try this…hoping you got lots of blooms!
In my experience, I don't think growing them to full maturity in the cell tray would allow enough space for root development. I think you'd be much better off transplanting them.

Thank you so much!! Your kind words mean more than you know 😭💛 Beyond excited that the information is helpful- that’s truly my goal!

Hey there! Best of luck to you too! Hoping ours both turn out :)
I have watched your videos over the last few months and I had no idea you were in SW Michigan! I am only an hour from you! Wishing you a great 2023 season :)
How cool that we’re so close! Wishing you an abundant season ahead as well! 💛
What spacing did you use for the ranunculus planted in the crates? Thank you for this great, informative video… it inspired me to give it a try!
Trying these this year. Great video, thank you!!
Good luck!

Ranunculus like to grow at 50-55°F. They can take Temps down to 28°F. You are going to love them.
That's good to know! Thanks for sharing!
Can't wait to see how they turn out!
Me too! Fingers crossed we get at least some blooms!
Do you have the results? Do you keep them in the crate all the way to bloom? What area in your house? Wondering if we could keep them in our shed?
Do you have an update video on these?
enjoy to watch thnks for it
Glad you enjoyed it!
By chance do you have a follow on video to show us the end result of planting them in crates?
If you look in our "shorts" feed I did just recently post a snapshot of our results. This method worked great for us and I will be doing a better update video this spring 💛

This is so well explained, thank you for sharing. Where do you buy your compost that you used for the crates.
We source from our a co-op that’s local to us 💛
This is very close to what we did as well! Are you going to store them as is over the winter or take them out of the soil?

What kind of potting soil did you use or did you use potting mix ?
What kinds of crates do you use and where can I get them from?
These are bulb crates. They are what our spring-flowering bulbs ship to us in in the fall.
Do you have an update on how this worked out?! I’m really thinking of trying the crate method for next year.
If you scroll over to our “shorts” tab, you can catch a peak of some of our ranunculus that resulted- worked really well for us! ✨💛

It worked great! You can catch a sneak peek at some of our results if you scroll through our ‘shorts’ here on RUclips 💛
HI did you harvest any? Can I use my basement for sprouting? I am in Ontario Canada.
Thank you for the video it motivated me to start my own.
Glad you're giving ranunculus a try! Yes, this did work- if you click on over to our "shorts" tap you can see a closer look at some of our results.
I am trying to find an answer online but cannot, are you able to just grow them to full maturity in the cell tray? Do you have to transplant? T.I.A. !
In my experience, I don't think growing them to full maturity in the cell tray would allow enough space for root development. I think you'd be much better off transplanting them.
Hope they do well 💐
Awe thank you! I hope so too!
Where to buy seeds thanks
I just watched this video from three months ago. How did they turn out?
It worked so good! The flowers bloomed beautifully and we’ll likely grow our ranunculus and anemones this same way next year!
What season for growing ranunculus
Spring!
How did it go with ranunculus in crates?
It worked well for us 💛 If you look at our "shorts" tab you can catch a sneak peek at some of our results.
