Thank you Mark!! I do realize that God recently protected me from taking an ex-boyfriend back into my life. I was convicted by the power of the Holy Spirit, I was reminded of the Grace of God and of the blessings I have received. I want to use my gifts to also help others as the Lord sees fit. God does not want me to stumble (especially from something He helped me to overcome) and further delay His plan for me🙏. Adding to things that could warn you are dreams or visions. In each bad relationship I have had, I had nightmares and a strange sense of foreboding beforehand. I did not make the link until looking back in hindsight. Now I am more aware! I recently read that if you have a dream and wake up and remember it, it could be a message. That really resonated with me.
Number 4 is the most important one in my opinion, though the first three are also important ones too. If you feel uncomfortable about someone in your spirit, that is the Holy Spirit, telling you that something about that person is off.
I write this with a joyous heart , this video was spot on , I ask God why this person came in my life and he showed me to use me for his exercising platform , God protected me from this man . I was too involved too soon . I can’t question God but it just does hurt as a person , but I’m a strong woman and will bounce back
I had one of these happen to me. There was a sister at church that i was interested in.and, every so often we sat near each other. I got a little bit more interested in her over time and was trying to connect with her at church. I was very consistent going to Wednesday Bible study and usually missed Sunday services because of my work schedule. She showed up for services occasionally on Wednesday nights and finally i said to myself i need to take more steps to connect with her. So, i finally friended her on facebook and thought i could message her and ask her good questions to get to know her better. Well, lo and behold, not long after the friend request she announced to everyone one fakebook that she was pregnant. Oh, well so much for that. The good part of the story is that she is doing much better now career wise than before she had the baby.

I believe it's always God's will to fulfill the desires of your heart, as long as those desires are in accordance with His Word. He created humans to pair up and cohabitate. There's nothing impractical about it, at any age. I'm in a similar predicament. I finally realized, God wants to bless us. But there might be things we're doing to block it, emotionally or spiritually. Ask the Holy Spirit to show you. That's what I'm doing. God bless you!
This will sound harsh but I'll say it regardless: From a practical and realistic standpoint, you're done for. You had your shot at your younger years but either you missed it, didn't take them or you simply lucked out. Again, it sounds harsh but even Christians need to keep in mind that God won't do all the heavy lifting for us. Like those outside God's circle, we're still tied to the rules of reality and therefore cannot always rely on miracles to undermine the circumstances.

Today a church friend announced her engagement- I was attracted to her for a few years until she told me last year that she didn’t see me as more than a friend, so I have all my feelings to process. Was I just crushing on her because she was there? I don’t think so as we have quite a few interests in common. Did I want to be with her to glorify God and sustain her, or because I’m tired of the way church culture treats singles and afraid of being alone when I’m old? I guess I just have to hand my tangled spaghetti-like mess of feelings to the Lord as they are until I understand what I’m feeling and why.

About #1 is it possible that God will purposely put you in situations that force you to be around or talk to a person you liked when pervious tries didn't seem to work, but once you feel ready to completely give up, then those situations to spend more time with them do happen, but you learn more "evidence" that shows you may not be meant to be together? Even when you may try to purposely avoid them or at least keep some distance and try to "help God", you may be forced to be in situations to talk to them or help them. This sort of happened to me some time ago. If God never intended me to be closer with this person especially when they weren't attracted to me anyways, why were these situations where I was somewhat "forced" to be around them or help them happen? Things this person did and said have shown her to be questionable, but I still had some faith it could work out. I have questioned if all this was to show more evidence why I shouldn't be attracted to them or to keep us apart even though I was already trying to do that before.

Just curious, a couple years ago when I was trying to date someone, I kept having dreams of me dating other women on top of seeing ads for dating sites while we were in the process of possibly dating, and I clearly had no intention of dating any other women. Would you say that is a sign from God?
An elder from church suggested my parents to consider introducing their youth pastor to me. Initially my parents were hesitant since it had only been a month since his girlfriend of 3 years broke up with him. Few weeks later my parents and this pastor unexpectedly ended up spending a whole day together and they got to know him more personally and liked him. That weekend I had plans to visit my parents (2.5hrs away) so my mom set us up to meet. I thought he’s nice but nothing more but he ended up being interested in me and came to visit where I live the week later. We had ups and downs but the circumstances were working for us to be together. For example he would say the sentences I prayed and wanted to hear from the guy who I will marry, word for word, (of course without me leading him), or when long distance was getting challenging he would have business trips to my city, finding out I know his aunt (she lives in a different country) and she actually wanted us to introduce us together 5 years ago, etc. However, things started to go south after we decided to become official after talking for 3 months. The elder pastor came to my parents house telling them he doesn’t recommend this guy. Different elder came to my dad to complain about him since my dad is also a retired pastor. His former coworker told my parents he’s a very good person but lacks in social skills, may be on a spectrum and is a very slow learner when it gets to work. My parents then told me to break up with him. After dating for 6 months though I didn’t want to, we ended up separating and I’m at a total loss. So confused. Him and I had been praying both together and individually everyday and every step of the way. Why did everything seemed to be pointing to us getting together and suddenly things like this happen? I was hurt in a previous relationship so for this one I’ve been praying hard to do everything according to His will. But I’m still keeping my faith in Him because that’s all I can do.
Friend, I don't think we need the approval of our parents to go out with someone, is it important to listen to their advice? yes but it is also important to use our criteria and and to know to what extent they or we are right. I say this because I suppose you are an adult, but I would advise a teenager to listen to their parents just in case. However, there is something I did not understand, is it your family that opposes the union or are the circumstances of "destiny"? If you believe that person is the right person and you have evaluated him and you actually consider that he could be a good partner, I think you should fight together, you know? Sometimes God helps you but remember that there are also people or enemies etc. that get in the way even in the work of God My native language is not English, sorry if I write something wrong
