Bears losing in Bears ways again. The defensive guru, Matt Eberflus, plays scared by going into a prevent defense which did not prevent the Vikings from marching down the field for an easy chip shot field goal. Almost 500 yards of total offense given up. This was easily one of the worst defensive games by the Bears. Eberflus out coached by another much better HC in OConnell, a fellow NFC North HC. Eberflus is easily the worst HC in the division and one of the worst in the entire league. He is now 13-31, a truly inspiring .311 win/loss ratio. Worst of any Bears head coach. 3 seasons of being the 4th place team in the division.
@@timgedler8719I’ll never understand why you go for 2 when down by a touchdown. You go for 2 when you are going for the win after scoring that next touchdown. Then you have two choices, go for the tying PAT or go for 2 to win. Otherwise we saw on Sunday, you don’t convert on the 2 point try then you are forced to convert on the next one. I’m all for going for 2 if it’s to win the game or to make it a one possession game such as making it a 3 or 7 point game. Don’t do it to make it a 2 or 6 point game. That’s just dumb which is what the Bears did
This is an undisciplined team. From Stevenson still jawing at opponents to the continued pre-snap penalties. Eberflus has lost control & it's bleeding over into the players.
Boards of Directors, when properly functioning, tend to focus more on governance, strategy, policy, and finances from a high level rather than the day-to-day decisions, etc. So, in the Bears case, the board should not it its formal business focus on specific football decisions and minutiae, but rather broader organizational performance and health.
THANK YOU. I thought Swift was finna block and release as a check down and he didn't. Granted, Caleb still should have threw the ball away, but he had no checkdown.
I was so fucking mad when the Vikings had a 2nd string QB coming in fuckin cold and Eberlose drops LBs back 15 yards in protection on 3rd and 13. I know hes done but I have ZERO FAITH in this ownership to hire the right person. Ownership is root cause here. You can't kill the weeds if you dont get the roots.
We will have to see how this relationship goes with Thomas Brown and the offense. Of the offense keeps playing this well down the stretch, I think there is a strong argument that TB should be retained and potentially promoted to HC. I know Bears fans are salivating at the prospect of having Ben Johnson which I am too but would we need a Ben Johnson if Thomas Brown has this offense humming as a top unit down the stretch against all these playoff caliber teams?
The way Flus handled the Washington game took the fangs out of Stephenson and the defense. A well timed time-out could have saved the spirit of this defense, the team and that game. Instead Flus let his young defender make an ash of himself and punished Stephenson (half ash but righfully so) just so that he does not have to take a blame and accountability for his substandard coaching. Yes #29 is a grown man and should have known better, but the HC should have been the HC, a father figure, protector and leader of the flock. Flus only took acountability after 3 days of "external preasure", otherwise he continues to double down on his bad and inopportune decisions only to over correct as an empty gesture. Saying sorry does not mean anything if you don't mean it as my dad use to say. That is why we need a better leader of men, and protector of his wounded soldier when times are tough as a Chicago Bears HC. Of course George will most likely pick another lame duck hand picked by the likes of Accorsi or Polian who probably gave George a group discount for using the same agent.
HITS requires accountability!!! You can NOT require the players to be accountable if the coaches arent accountable. Eberfluss has started to pay LIPSERVICE to accountability... he says "thats on me" but when he talks about it, he talks about how it wasnt executed and not about how his PLAN was flawed! That is BLAMING THE PLAYERS AND NOT TAKING ACCOUNTABILITY He isnt accountable to the players if he can't admit he fucked up. ... Whats good for the goose is good for the gander
This is the biggest red flag with Eberflus. He coaches accountability but never takes specific accountability for his actions. He says blanket statements like “those things start with me” or “I need to be better”. But he never takes accountability for having the wrong defense on the field during the Washington game. Not taking a timeout when his players are out of position (ei Stevenson on the Hail Mary) and he literally told the media “no need to take a timeout because the defense was in position”. Like are you fucking blind?! If he was in position while blabbering to fans then why did you not start him the next week? Hold yourself accountable if you are going to make your players do it. Fucking dumb as shit
Offense is bad - matt eberflus, special teams is bad - matt eberflus, wind is out of the south - matt eberflus, the gatorade flavor is wrong - matt eberflus. Everyone stop whining about eberflus. I'm sure you all blame your bosses for your failures, but unless these players actually step up, they need to shoulder a lot of the blame. Muffed punt, dropped 4th down, not wrapping up on tackles leading to 50 yard catches, holding the ball and taking 10 yard sacks. Stop protecting the players with all this eberflus whining.
If the goal is to win Rookie Of the Year Award for Caleb rather than win some guys it's ridiculous. That Sam Darnold was MVP. Easy to see why Vikings are 9-2. They play team football and RB Moore is good.
Everlose has lost this team, at least the defense has checked out. You're not keeping him after this season. Just fire him and make Thomas Brown the interim HC and make Eric Washington the DC and defensive play caller NOW!
The way you're fumbling around in the opening five minutes for stats including how many points they scored at one stretch just yesterday, maybe come into the podcasts with better preparation? Just a thought...
We atleast have a franchise QB in CayGod Williams. Hopefully when we purge the morons from Halas Hall the bears will randomly hit on a HC in spite of their awful coaching search process.
Close losses to conf top playoff teams with elite 3 sides + coaching, says Bears almost there. Only a proven Bellichick can upgrade Bears to eliteness.
why does everyone want Flus fired, there have been so many fluke games. Stop being Chicago meatball heads and just accept the ball didn't bounce our way this season. Flus can't control the flukes of the hail mary and the blocked field goal. It's 2 wins lost due to dumb luck. Jeez
Bench Caleb Williams for Tyson Begent. Tyson will win the rest of the divisional games. Caleb Just gets yards that result in field goals and Touchdowns. Caleb can't win games for the team, he got sacked in overtime. Tyson Begent is the best fit for this bears offense.
That throw to swift on the rollout... magic!
Swift made an amazing adjustment and catch on that.

Also played scared going for two prematurely and ruined momentum!

Can we call out Gordon for having a GREAT GAME!
He deserves recognition. He played his heart out.
Always appreciate the professionalism of this show. I actually feel smarter after listening. Other Bears shows should take note!

11 points, don't forget the 2pt conversion!

14 game losing streak - 10 to end 2022 and the first 4 of 2023
How did they not realize this?! Haha
For the record, I'd buy an "It's too late" shirt
Santos has done a good job with the Bears statistically. I just don't think he's the guy when we start winning.
Caleb Williams just gets yards that result in field goals and not touchdowns. Put in Tyson Begent.
Keenan Allen made a huge difference too from last year
I really miss my favorite player Jaquan!!😞😫

I don’t want to another soft spoken offensive guru. I want a leader of men. TB is my guy.
Jefferson PI and Odunze non-PI call was huge factor in outcome
Brisker must feel like he can play & the coaches & Poles that has him on IR “miss me yet”

Get rid of the voicemails. Uninteresting. Instead top 5 audience takes instead.
AMEN to this!!!
Do both!!
Agreed

Fire George McCaskey
How did you all forget 14 game losing streak from 22-23?
I do not want Vrabel, Belicek, McCown, or Gruden. Johnson scares me because never been a HC. Shanahan or Brown is my vote.
Does anyone ever talk about the officiating?
Offense is bad - matt eberflus, special teams is bad - matt eberflus, wind is out of the south - matt eberflus, the gatorade flavor is wrong - matt eberflus. Everyone stop whining about eberflus. We lost 14 games in a row 22-23
Jeez Teven plays one full game and you want to give him an all pro selection for it…take that derisively or jokingly

Make the pain stop
They lost 10 in a row to finish off the 2022 season and I think they lost 14 overall. That just happened, boys. Drink some coffee. 🤣
Caleb Williams will be super Star in the making!!! Get rid of Matt Eberflus!!!!🐻🏈🐻🏈
The way you're fumbling around in the opening five minutes for stats including how many points they scored at one stretch just yesterday, maybe come into the podcasts with better preparation? Just a thought...

Poles can go to. I don't think he knows how to evaluate or draft lineman on either side of the ball. I do not trust him to rebuild the trenches.
Keenan gave up on the gamenin the middle. He quit on a route on 3rd down and caleb threw it where it should go and he wasnt there
Caleb didn't give up and other guys on the team who HAD given up turned it around because of him
Yup! Did you see the play that Caleb put it right in Keenan’s hands before he even turned around?!

Eberfluses best game of the year. Really hoping poles doesn’t make rash decisions.
