Containers don't really have an overhead, because the docker daemon is talking directly to the kernel without any translation layer in between. As the containers have direct access to your graphics hardware all the graphical applications should run exactly as if they were installed via Flatpak for example. The game was lagging only because of the virtual environment you were in.
I recently switched my work machine to blendOS - the only thing I can't get working is tailscale. No matter what I try I can't get tailscale to come up, regardless of whether it's a Ubuntu or Arch container. I even reached out to Tailscale directly but they weren't sure what to do to get it running either, aside from pulling their docker container (which doesn't do what I need it to do anyway). Aside from that, knowing that *everything* is containerized is such a good feeling! Edit: turns out I didn't put the environment file in the correct path. Now that I've done that it works flawlessly!
Looks like a perfect os for home. If the dev improves the Android layer in future updates, it would be amazing. I know which project I will be donating this month.
You are one of my favorite Linux creators dude. I'm an aspiring creator myself, and I've always looked up to you Bryan Lunduke(rip lol), DistroTube, and I truly loved Linux News from Jupiter Broadcasting(really rip). There's lots of others that have inspired me, but I loved that you also supported Odysee. Also Blend OS is looking very interesting indeed.
Your looking like a baby now after hard shaving :D I prefer stable disto with Flatpak + AppImage/am Manager + Distrobox + Nix Package Manager combination with BTRFS and grub-btrfs. No need to be restricted with immutable logic, if something goes wrong then I easily rollback.
Hello, I just installed blend on my desktop but cannot find where the wifi is nor any connection network to choose from, can you please help? Also do you know if windows can be ran like this also?
well, vanilla only has gnome support, so blendOS is good if you want the abilities of vanilla on a different desktop than gnome, not sure if its 1 to 1 i feel vanilla may have more stuff in place to make it more resilient but i could be wrong, maybe they just focus on it more than blendOS, personally if i ever got a laptop i would try blendOS looks like a solid choice for stable and compatible
Yeah, not just that, but i also feel like from a stability point of view, it's kinda weird that they chose arch as a base, since these type of distros usually use something like debian, and then run arch stuff on top of it to get the benefits of arch.
i tried installing blendos kde but it confuses me i installed it more then three times but it just doesnt boot eufi the installer does not give me /boot/efi or /boot in manual partitioning i tried the boot option it gives but still does not want and finally when it does im not geting vram
what i see it's just Vanilla Os but included wayland, which make blendOs doesn't seems special i though they make out of the box android support or something
OS is buggy as hell. During setup, graphics crashed, web apps refuse to install with no real error, bluetooth refused to work, just an all round buggy mess.
Why don't the developers just go ahead and SET UP CONTAINERS for all distros (arch, debian, etc.) and then all we would need to do is USE the damn thing.. IT"S NOT very friendly for folks like me that are USERS not techies that keyboard and all that crap.
techhut kid take over the channel??
That is why I don't use a beard, it is like 10 more years with it

Which desktop environment would you recommend?
@@Emyl. If you do not use KDE or Gnome, Android application support does not work and Gnome is recommended.
Bro removed his beard container
him loosing his beard is a cannon event.
He’s not Commander Riker.
Hello TechHut Jr. great first video! The style is just like TechHut senior, scarily so!
Thank you, I was like wtf is wrong? Why this video looks so odd?
hahahahaha

I would imagine that some of the issues with the Android store have to do with you running this all in a VM.
from their website's main page: "Keep in mind that Android apps do not work in VMs."
Yeah ... for me bhatura doesnt install properly in gnome boxes
@@shrirammadurantakam Nor proxmox from my experience
sudo apt install beard not found
Bring back techhut
You have betrayed the Covenant of the Beard! The Order knows. The templars are at the ready.
Please do a video on customizing the desktop environment for the OS. I wanna see what kind of desktop customizations you can add to the GUI.
i use fedora btw
I use arch btw
More edgier software than Debian or Ubuntu, yet fewer breakages upon updating than with Arch.
I don't see myself needing anything like this but its still pretty cool.

Also Blend OS is looking very interesting indeed.
Who is this guy? Idont recognize him without the beard.
So how do you feel about blendOS vs Vanilla OS?
I really like the idea of vannilla and BlendOS , one distro to unify them all. this is the way to go , I am a huge fan of ubuntu studio otherwise
Blendos is good and all, but who is the new guy?
sudo apt-get purge -y beard
The real question is does window managers work as desktop sessions.
Bro containerised his beard 💀💀💀
😂😂Y’all play too much smh
Your looking like a baby now after hard shaving :D

After the installation and restart it, there is not even android apps option in the settings😢
Hello, I just installed blend on my desktop but cannot find where the wifi is nor any connection network to choose from, can you please help? Also do you know if windows can be ran like this also?
Would you happen to know if this will install Davinci Resolve Studio and also how would one choose to use one distro or another within it?
Why did the microphone quality decrease?
So, which is better, BlendOS or Vanilla/OrchidOS?
well, vanilla only has gnome support, so blendOS is good if you want the abilities of vanilla on a different desktop than gnome, not sure if its 1 to 1 i feel vanilla may have more stuff in place to make it more resilient but i could be wrong, maybe they just focus on it more than blendOS, personally if i ever got a laptop i would try blendOS looks like a solid choice for stable and compatible
If you are running an Arch based distro you don't need apt or dnf. Arch and the AUR will give you what you need.
But AUR is sometimes can be risky and I mostly feel unsafe when use AUR package :D
Yeah, not just that, but i also feel like from a stability point of view, it's kinda weird that they chose arch as a base, since these type of distros usually use something like debian, and then run arch stuff on top of it to get the benefits of arch.
So how do you compare that to vanilla is?
Basically silverblue with distrobox and waydroid preinstalled?
it sucks they dont give you a bootloader
+ The installer of the usb is broken it just overides the usb
The Beard gone? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i tried installing blendos kde but it confuses me i installed it more then three times but it just doesnt boot eufi the installer does not give me /boot/efi or /boot in manual partitioning i tried the boot option it gives but still does not want and finally when it does im not geting vram
Same, you get any solution this problem tell me please 🥹🥹
Nice presentation sir.
Fresh look. And as always, a nice video review.
Fascinating distro...
How about try Windows software and Mac Software in Blend OS? I thought that Blend_OS is perfect Distro?
Is this failed deepfake?
So vanilla os?
what i see it's just Vanilla Os but included wayland,
which make blendOs doesn't seems special
i though they make out of the box android support or something
This is amazing, I have just set this up in Proxmox. Anyone know how to install XRDP so I can RDP to it?
Someone have got a shave after thousands of year .😂😂
I want the beard back!
Cool..... But can I -easily- run hyprland?
No.
same dependency installed again and again in each container 😭
honestly I think Vanilla OS has more polish with the GUI.
But gnome...........
a new and exciting experience
Who took your beard, my friend?
where is the bread?
I heard you like distros
Anyone tried this and Nixos?
I just did for the first time, it's awesome. Check out the latest video
OS is buggy as hell. During setup, graphics crashed, web apps refuse to install with no real error, bluetooth refused to work, just an all round buggy mess.
Who are you?
is this support dual boot ?
i think it can
usually Waydroid works quite a bit better than that, in my experience.
Did your son take over?
where beard
I will never use Ubuntu.
bring back the beard. its weird
ouch a new look but cool
Why don't the developers just go ahead and SET UP CONTAINERS for all distros (arch, debian, etc.) and then all we would need to do is USE the damn thing.. IT"S NOT very friendly for folks like me that are USERS not techies that keyboard and all that crap.
BlendOS? More like BloatedOS
I Think you are not the target user of BlendOS.
Who is this woman? Where is Tech Hut?
Who’s this guy?
🤣 Good call on the jpeg.
I would rather call this "BlenderOS"
WHO TF IS THIS
Why did you shave? 🥲
This all cool but I really don't see the need to have smth like this.
I have to squint to watch you now since the beard has gone. Otherwise I don't trust your IT credential since. 🤣
sudo dnf remove beard
sudo pacman -R beard
Please grow a beard again.
This is the most pointless distro ever. Why do I even need multiple package manger in my system? Doesn't make sense.
Hmm. Useless.
Where is his beard? I dont like this.
