Clicking a flashlight won't do anything, the light barely do anything unless you blind someone, which you don't do while clicking. If they care, they'd change blastmine or Freddy's power making the sky white on some maps.

The actual solution: *setting to turn down the brightness of the light so the seizure doesn’t trigger*

I think what they should do for the clicking is that for the people with epilepsy they just put settings to fix it so it doesn’t affect other peoples gameplay. Where instead of light, it’s an outline of where the flashlight is hitting so it doesn’t affect anyone or the gameplay, a win win
I agree why not just make there be an anti-flash setting instead of nerfing flashlights!?! Grrrr - I don’t even feel like macroing flashlights was enough of a problem to warrant the focus on it - I rarely see macroed Beamers …
I’m just glad I won’t have to listen to people machine gunning their flashlights at me anymore.

There is a photosensitive warning already but I can understand the clicking removal. But why make us have to aim at the sky, I thought it was a bug at first but it's apparently intentional. Overall it just won't be fun to run flashlights anymore, any mistakes and you fail the save. Has to be another way to go about it but whatever works.
The photosensitive thing was just an excuse. They removed it cause it was "toxic". Like you said there is a warning for photosensitivity in the game. Its really sad how they removed a funny/useful mechanic because people were geniunely getting hurt over a flashlight, if you get hurt by someone tbaging or clicking you got issues.

"Any mistakes and you fail the save" as you should. Having to use skill to get a flashlight save now isn't a bad thing.

The rate you'd have to click flashlights to even induce a seizure is like 5-30 times a second. They did it for toxicity, they just lied about it and made it seem like it was for epileptics

I feel like if they really wanted to do something about light sensitive groups they need to adjust doctor. That static is more dangerous than flashlight clicking imo it occurs randomly throughout the match and you’re pretty much always in tier 1 or 2

First it was toolboxes, then it was keys, now it’s flashlights. Soon the medkit will have a mini game just to heal yourself. But this is what BHVR does, rather than figuring out how to add settings for photo sensitive people they have to hinder the survivor side of the game.

@@Rhetzelle I feel you. Gens take so long to do (killer still has crazy amount of gen regressing perks) and there are so few pallets and objects to interact. Killer can easily build bloodlust and wander around pallets to gain a brainless down. Every fun things survivors have, they take it away, so I quit, it's just a waste of time.

its a PTB bug, you can pick item up while carrying flash. The flashbang gets used first afterwards you can use the item. Would be cool if it worked like that though.

Everybody saying intentional is obviously new to this game. They do this every once in a while, where the aim is slightly off to live. It happened in Ghostfaces PTB, and way back when Clown (i think, it was an older original killer) first released. They usually fix it in the next hotpatch/before ptb goes live.

I'm photosensitive & I use Lightborn when I play killer (which is like never these days). I hate when teammates spam click their flashlights at me bc I'm like "welp, here's to hoping I don't have a seizure" lol. Glad they're making these change. I am in dire need of it XD

Its kinda annoying since i use my flashlight a lot to communicate with solo queue teammates and / or to get their attention. Since the (fast) clicking makes sounds in comparison to the gestures that are in the game. Now it consumes more battery since one click takes longer and it doesn't get their attention as good as a short click spam ...

Yes, having accessibility like that is good, but nerfing just one click for a tactical 360 is kind of weird, I feel like the flashlight should've just been on cooldown after clicking two or three times, or something as easy as that instead of nerfing some mechanisms.

Maybe they should ad a button while blinding to re-adjust, which doesn't change the visual of the beam or the charges running out, but allows you to resart the blind, and a button to essentially place your camera to your mouse like as if you clicked for a 360, it would also help as you could like look at the killer while running.

This just shows how soft the DBD community really is to the point where they removed a fun and effective mechanic because people got offended when you click at them. The photosensitivity thing was obviously just an excuse. If you seriously got angry by someone clicking at you, Tbaging, or hitting you on hook, you have major issues. And another thing, the DBD community also does not know what toxic means at all, they just throw that term around so carelessly... Trash talking, Tbaging, clicking, and hitting on hook are not toxic. A toxic player is one who is saying heinous things like racial slurs, griefing, or making the game unfun for other players in the game such as hacking. I honestly wouldn't even be surprised if the removed crouching from the game next

I get they make it for photosensitive people, but it would be better if they made it so you could only turn _on_ the flashlight with a delay rather than holding out the flashlight for a quarter of a second, so you can still click to do the spin or to signal to someone

Making it so it goes on a tiny cooldown when clicked instead of having a minimum time on would fix the photosensitivity issue while still letting you do the click-spin. Idk saves would still be tougher but at least there's that

unfortunately on my first ever save, my friend helped me and told me I was too early, so I clicked it and got it right. now I'm just used to doing it like that and I've never been able to time it without clicking it, so I guess I'm going to have to re-learn flashie saves... feels like such an unnecessary change.

About not being able to juke, flashlights were never meant for that so that's not an issue. But for the first thing doing the save too early, you can still briefly turn the beam away and then back (any direction not at the killers eyes) and that way adjust for being too early, although it wastes a little more juice. Though the argument could be made that since you got the timing wrong, you should lose something, so the juice would be a fair tradeoff
i wouldve personally just wanted a nerf to the flashlight angles rather than this, seeing as you can be blinded from outside your FoV still
