Erebus is definitely one of the more interesting God's in Danmachi imo. In greek myth, Erebus is the underworld were Hades rules, a world of death and darkness. But in this world is also were humans find rest in Elysium( greek heaven or paradise practically). So his character makes sense because he not only knows the evil of those who are eternally damned but also the good of those in Elysium. It makes him a good reference for justice and evil because in his realm he can see humanity at its best and worst.

The god don't die. They do get sent back to heaven. You will be shunned like a leper. Everyone will hate you and abandon you. Just imagine Jesus coming back and someone killed him again.
