Crazy set, insanely close. In the end the difference between winning and loser was legit 11 rounds to 9, crazy close. If the last match had gone the other way one person would have won the match count but they would have ended 10-10 on rounds.
What i find fascinating is that online these pro players do micromanaging/ poking but then when theyre in person tournament theyre full on perfect conversions and executions. Like a 100x more aggressive gameplay

Gief needs a buff where if he uses lariat to dodge a projectile, it zooms him forward so it always connects from mid range. because that ending was kind of trash. it was just so obvious Gief had no options.
@@HeDronHeDronHedron idk why you think so. Lariat knocks the opponent down back into neutral so it wouldn't give Gief good oki, unless the opponent was sitting in the corner already. And medium range means the distance of like a leg sweep or less so it would still require a lot of timing from the Gief player. It just means you can't spam fireball mindlessly at him, you'd need to be ready to react at mid range. It would make situations like that ending much more exciting for both players.

Dude most top players will tell you gief is a top 10 character at minimum. The gief matchup is also very hard for akuma, if gief gets 2 perfect parry ex spds it will take a miracle for gief not to win that round. I am not saying the match up is in giefs favor per se, I believe it is a real 50-50. Akuma only needs to make 1-2 mistakes or 1 really bad read and he is done.

Wearing his opponent down with pure boredom as opposed to any actual flair or craftsmanship.. crap. There is a great video of punk (cammy) handing daigo his ass i saw recently.. personally i think he really just can't find a main that truly fits his play style .. not to yhe level he can dominate like he used to back in the day. His glory days are way gone ..

Usually better oki options and stuff that he can do. It’s alright on corner knockdown but it’s not great really, probably his weakest move.
