    Thank you for the upload 😊 I also own an epiphone sg special ve worn walnut. I actually upgraded them as well. I’ve replace the pickups for a very hot double rail bridge humbucker and alnico supreme gold cover neck pickup and replace the bridge sets for the gold rolling tune-o-matic bridge and the chevron v shape stop bar gold 😊 mainly for asthetic look.

    These guitars look sick for it's price point

    My 16yo son turns 17 March 23rd. 2 days ago I paid AMZ $179.00 US for your exact guitar for his Birthday.
    I'm going to teach him how to mod it after he plays it for a month straight so he knows what is suitable for his taste.
    That being said, the orange drops are definitely the "Gunny's Kiss" but I'm upgrading the pots and 3-way as well. Locking tuners and graphite saddles are in the mix.
    Awesome video but I have to ask how do your wife's pickups compare to yours?
    Any pros and cons?

    • @ejbgunny1
      @ejbgunny1  9 месяцев назад +1

      It's awesome you are allowing him the opportunity to start playing but also teaching him the anatomy of his new guitar. Mods can happen pretty cheap now days especially if you approach it with a thrifty mindset. What's more you will have fun doing it with your son and that to me makes it well worth it. The pickups in both guitars are the same except hers obviously has the nickel covers. Not much difference to my ears though. If anything hers might be a touch warmer but that's it. It's mostly esthetic and each of us having our own signature look. Thanks for watching friend - Eric

    Hello! Filipino guitar player here who owns the same guitar, but it was built in 2017. The Graphtech 6060 nut fits well in your guitar? Or did you have to adjust it a bit? Also, when was it built? Thanks!!

    • @ejbgunny1
      @ejbgunny1  7 месяцев назад +1

      Hello and thanks for your comment and questions. As for the Graphtec Nut; I did have to do a little sanding to get it fitted properly. However, I did not like them. I recently replaced the nut on each guitar with a "buffalo bone nut" I found on Shopee for 62 pesos/ea. Works much better. I also replaced the pickups in the walnut SG with Artec VH59 Humbuckers. The cherry SG still has the Wilkinsons. Both SG's are made in 2021.

      @@ejbgunny1 Hey thanks for the reply! What was wrong with the Graphtech? I was thinking of putting it on my guitar as I heard so much about how good it is.

    • @ejbgunny1
      @ejbgunny1  7 месяцев назад +1

      @@ethancorrea5370 They just didn't work for me for some reason. No matter what I did the g string never cooperated with me when I had the graphtec nuts installed. You might have better luck. On the other hand, I have the white graphtec nut installed on my LP and it works just fine. I know it sounds strange, right?

      @@ejbgunny1 I have looked into Graphtech's video on their guitar parts that the nut coded "6061" (whether it be ivory or black) were supposed to go to Epiphone guitars that were built after 2014. But hey, if it fits on your Les Paul. It is unfortunate that the 6061 still won't be in stock, and it's so hard to find. Anyway, thanks for the reply, once again! You have a lovely day now. Salamat!

    • @ejbgunny1
      @ejbgunny1  Год назад +4

      To be honest there is nothing on this guitar that needs replacement in my opinion. The older Epiphones are a different story but the newer ones are much better equipped. Replacing anything on this particular guitar would be mostly a matter of self preference.

      Wilkinson stuff are amazingly underrated. They may not be premium but they are most definitely high quality. And considering what you pay for it's really hard to beat.

    Were the tuners just drop in? Or did you have to drill the headstock?

    • @ejbgunny1

      My wife had to remind me that we beveled out the existing holes in the headstock to meet the 10mm hole size needed to fit the Wilkinson tuners.

    • @ejbgunny1

      Honestly I'm probably not the best person to ask but I'm sure there are live music venues in the area. Sweet Mermaid's Cafe and Restobar in Lucap; I believe they have live music on the weekends. That is the only place I know off the top of my head but I would do more research to see if there are other locations as well. Great question and thanks for bringing it up.

      Hi Octavius! I replaced them the same as I did on the walnut SG. They are the same pickups. The only difference is the pickups I installed in the Cherry SG came with chrome covers and cost a little more.

      Hi Sir. I would be giving you bad advice if I were to tell you that finding work here would be a fruitful endeavor. So I won't. Even if you were to land a working gig anywhere in the Philippines, it would never pay you what you're worth. Final conclusion: I wouldn't even think about it. I know it's probably not what you want to hear but it's the reality of it sir. Thanks for watching and commenting 🙂

    • @ejbgunny1
      @ejbgunny1  2 года назад +3

      @@chrisr525 No problem, Chris. I think the only way I would ever get involved in operating any type of business in the PH is if it were with my wife. The reason I say is because there is at least one person in the business who is Filipino. I would not feel comfortable being the lone American foreigner dude competing with the Filipino down the street in his/her community. That could potentially be a recipe for disaster. I might be on target or I might be missing the mark, but my instincts tell me to avoid.
