Today the competition is to that extent when students are committing suicide failing to cope up with such pressure and those who don’t, end up in having severe depression.
We have lesser no of jobs and more abs more unemployed graduates/ qualified students
There are enough numbers of jobs, just not enough peoples with right skills.

. Being in the science stream, the word competition is like a bullet through. I made it to the "achievers " section of our school..I still remember how we were given that talk of shame if we didn't make it. It's uglier in coachings where the teachers you are so open to, keep preaching about competition otherwise life is not worthy. Even though I was good at what I do, I wasn't competitive enough, and hence wouldn't be taken seriously. Ignored. Tagged childish . One of my cousin sisters, she ranked an AIR 1 in a coaching exam. When I was praising her, I was asked to keep mum and not say anything because I didn't do any such thing. What the hell is this? The so called toppers keep comparing themselves. I can't understand that. And being in such environment is suffocating. I don't know . I want to live a better life. And for once. Experience happiness. Simple. And pure.

Have been there. It has even taken a toll on my mental health. I am diagnosed with GAD. It's really tough to cope even though I know what I'm going through.
dust idk where u @ rn. Already passed that phase, immediately post it or further. If u are a student in +2 or drop, I would just say focus on the required, with good resources u can learn any skill and do anything, no matter what background. And if u are past that, I would say just be with urself. acharya prashant to the rescue. Just relaxing into ur own self. A little bit of introspection with a little but of easing off does great for the circuits. 🤞

Have been in the education profession for almost 30 years.
Competition should be highlighted in one way only - compete against yourself, strive to make yourself better, in every way possible.
Pity it revolves mainly around academia. Learning and receiving an education is priceless, but certainly not to the detriment of one’s welfare and social interactions.

I got 85 Percent in 12 th class and these are very less marks because a lot of students scored so much good marks i started comparing myself with others and then i started thinking that i am a looser in life but sadhguru changed my perspective thank you sadhguru
I got 97% in 10th but can't focus on my 11th grade studies because I realised I'm tired of trying to "prove myself". Earlier having higher marks was like an important part of my identity, but now it isn't and thus I keep asking myself is this really worth all that? Studying is harder than it used to be...
@@gamerrex5940 it's totally normal to feel that way ,yes syllabus and course suddenly paces and gets hard in 11th grade but don't feel burdened do how much you can learn how much you can. And it's no big problem if you score a little less in 11th grade. Trust me we all ahve just passed this grade. My 10th percentage was 93 percent and 11th was 70 percent such a big drop. And yeah i used to feel bad too that my friends scored higher than me. But then it's okay I wrote how much I knew .
And dude if you're in cbse i think you've got some great grades. In 10th even average people can score 85 but in 12th it's even hard to score 75. So chill out ! You're cool also these days colleges rely on entrance

Comparison is the root cause of anxiety and other mental problems . So we should take care of ourselves rather than bothering about what other people are doing . Because this will give us our mental peace back .

This type of things should taught in our classes. Because in today world this is very important
It's not about competing against others at all in University. The key and main focus should be self-development where one thinks about improving themselves on being better for their own benefit. Achieving ones own fullest potential living life to the fullest is the concentration. Thus, don't think of competition in terms of being better than everyone else in school for example. Instead, view it as a way of competing with yourself in order to be the best version of yourself learning new skills and abilities independently for personal and professional growth, achieving progress, success and other goals for the individual. The definition of competition is being misconceived and has been for years in society. The education system needs to change in order to help change students way of thinking to focus on acquiring new knowledge and wisdom for changing their lives and sharing this with others for providing them with life changing experiences as well. The point is to support others for living a happy, healthy and balanced lifestyle overall.

Very sensible advice and very good parable.
When you want to grow any plants, you nourish the plant, protect it from harm, take care of its environment. Let mother nature take care the rest.
Conversely, not satisfied with its natural growth rate, you slice it up, inject growth hormone, subject it to 24hours of UV etc, you may get super fast growth rate and the results maybe beyond your expectations.
