- Hey party people! Thank you so much for hanging out with me while I share with you my stocking stuffers for my kids! last minute gift ideas.. or whatever you want to call it! A bunch of crap to throw at your kids and make them super happy for about ten minutes is what I like to call it when I roll out of bed in the morning. The smiles are worth it.. or so I tell myself.

The tradition I’ve kept from my childhood is that the elves come every day for the 5-6 days leading up to Christmas and leave a present in everyone’s stocking. It stretches the stocking stuffers out for a week instead of 5 minutes on Christmas morning, and the stocking things don’t get overlooked by the gifts under the tree. Plus you get to open something every morning all week long!

Kim!! Buy yourself the oven. When you go to sell your home it will be a plus. New buyers want a working oven and it will sting more if you buy it for them without enjoying it yourself! Great stocking stuffers, I always go overboard as well and usually need a bag for overflow and items that don't fit. Merry Christmas!

I let a lot go after 1. My Gram (she’s 96) told me early on to let whatever won’t affect her as an adult go. She used to let her eat sitting on the table. Drove me nuts. She’d tell me “Kristin do you think she’ll set on the table when she’s 30? Leave her alone”. Still drives me crazy but she grew out of it. Now I’m just like as long as she’s polite, kind and doing what she should, I should chill

Kim, I think it's a great mom who lets her kids express themselves. My mother let me dye my hair so many crazy colors, and she helped me do it. I loved it. I was super uncomfortable in my body as I grew into a teenager and stayed that way well into being like 15-16. I felt so much more confident with rainbow hair, neon hair, whatever I wanted, my mom just supported me and helped me. I loved it so much that I miss it. It's just hair, it'll grow out. It can be cut later.

I love doing consumables like his favorite candy, candy cane, slime, bath bombs, playdough. It cuts down on the clutter!
Haha! My husband said he bought the stocking stuffers, so after the kids went to bed, I excitedly asked him to show me them like Kim just did. He said they were just candy to cut down on bargain clutter. I was soooo sad. But seeing your comment, I thought, hey, that's a thing! I have some spare slime and crayons and post-its and play-doh in our stockpile. These get used up quickly. So thank you!
My grandparents are from Germany and they always opened presents Christmas Eve so thats what we do. My mom would save 1 or 2 special gifts for me to open Christmas morning and in my stocking would be mostly the chocolates and treats

Stockings are my jam! I love shopping for them and always go overboard.
I have two girls, 8 and almost 2, and a third girl due in March. I did the same thing with the stockings (and let’s be honest, the gifts) 😂 I started putting the stuff in their stockings and they’re busting at the seams! I was like.. maybe.. maybe I went overboard 😂🤣 but you can’t help it! You walk in and the Christmas music is playing, you’re alone, the spirit hits you and “oh the sweet Christmas smiles! The excitement!” We just go crazy.
And then everything is hidden away and you’ll go to the next store thinking, I didn’t get them enough or I got one this but didn’t get one that. And then you pull it out to wrap and holy moly. Gift mountain 🥴 Thank you for reminding me I’m not alone!

I have the opposite problem as a kid. When I was 10 my parents told us they were putting the house on the market just to see what would happen. I was convinced the house was going to sell immediately started packing my room. Guess what? The house sold within five weeks and everybody else in the house was scrambling around to pack everything up so we could move out in 60 days and I was already done before the house was sold. 😎
To help the hair color last a little longer, use cool water to wash. Hot water strips it faster. Also, color protector shampoo
Haha I’m not sure if I’ll be able to get my girls to shower with cool water 😂😂👏🏻 they haven’t found out that pain is beauty yet 💀😂

My kids get mostly fun toiletries, more expensive toothpaste because has fun characters, candy scented body wash, cool smelling hand soap, fun pack of toothbrush’s ect never heard a complaint and it stuff I needed to buy but more fun in there stockings
We've done a lot of those in the past, always fantastic usable gifts!!

Kim, the semi permanent blue will not work on Avalinas hair. I think her hair is dark, and colors work on light color hair, which need to needs to be lighten first THEN , shampoo, dry then add the box color. The one you got for Eleanor may show more since she already has some lighter hair color.

I always knew I would allow my kids to have (almost) full range on my kids hair choices. I was never allowed to do much of anything to my hair and I hated it.
Same. With the exception of bleaching their hair as my hair dresser recommended waiting on that until theyre 16. But colouring hair with no bleach, sure, have at it 😊

My daughter is 15 and she’s been getting her hair colored since she was 6. 🤦🏻♀️ My sister is a hairdresser so we get it done for free, but that also means that it’s the permanent color. She’s had pink hair, blue hair, green hair, and now she’s got blonde under her naturally very dark brown hair. She’s already talking about what color she’s going to do next, and my sister’s kids are all in college so she doesn’t have anyone at home whose hair she can color so she texts my daughter and they make plans. 😆 I love it, and when you’re as beautiful as my girl, you can wear any color hair and look even more beautiful! Your girls are the same way, Kim.
There could be way way worse things a 15yr old is doing other than making hair dates with your Sister!! As long as she is happy there is no harm at all and lm sure she looks stunning. Merry Christmas to you both.

Also, I always overbuy stocking stuffers. Every year. I did a little better this year because I threw a bunch of crap in their advent calendar, but it's always so many bags before it's all done. Sometimes I save it for Easter and end up with too much for that holiday as well.

You should look into Demi-permanent dye! The box dye usually has a lightener in it and honestly it’s better to just bleach it and dye it with something like arctic fox! A lot of colors will even show up on darker hair without using lighter

I’m so glad I’m not the only one who had this problem! I kept saying “my oldest has nothing” that child ended up with more than I thought 🤦♀️😂
Also as long as she takes care of her hair , conditions it and doesn’t just neglect her hair and dye it every week or something she will be fine and so will her hair ❤️ but the blue is known to stain basically everything so have some tea tree oil and alcohol swabs on stand by 😂

The hair dye you got is actually a pretty good dye (punky color) semi permanent dye doesn’t damage the hair as much as permanent dye. To help it stay longer, get a sulfate free shampoo (color protecting shampoo is okay to but sulfate free is also really good). The color you got is so pretty!!
