Im glad you donating work clothes to charity... the white shirt and grey skirt will make a nice outfit for a young woman to use as an interview for a job.

Love a good de clutter! I also sorted through some clothes and footwear to part with today. I love having more space in my wardrobe and drawers without rummaging through too many things to get to the same things that I do wear! Thanks for another lovely video. 😊

Cowl necks are never flattering on older women, they echo drooping facial contours and neck wrinkles, not aspects we want to draw attention to. A lot of these items look too big for you, or really stretched out (especially the necklines) and the patterns are dated, I think you’re doing a great job purging. You’re inspiring me.

I think we all bought those crazy boot-top socks and never wore them, either! They seemed like a good, new thing, but weren’t. I do wear arm-warmers, though, to get some wear out of my hated 3/4 sleeve items, which have been on my don’t buy list for ages. They’re too cold in winter, too hot in summer, I didn’t realize they didn’t work until I bought several. They are still just everywhere, but if I want that look, I just push the sleeves up, then still have the longer option, with my long-sleeved tops.

We call those “pinafore dresses” “jumpers” in the US, which I know means US-sweater there. Very few Americans know what a pinafore is, the country really didn’t get underway until after strapped aprons were the standard, and we just call them aprons and they’re just for cooking or heavy cleaning, we don’t have apron dresses as a term. Another one is “polo neck”, which to us is a collared, lightweight knit, like a tee shirt. Your polo is our “turtleneck”. Two nations, divided by a common language (Churchill).

My neck is extremely sensitive, too, but I tolerate cashmere a lot better than wool. I love merino wool, it’s warm, light and soft, but if it starts irritating my neck, I just put a silk scarf under it. It sounds like you have a wool allergy, you could try cashmere, it’s from a different animal species and maybe your skin won’t react. I only recently learned that fibers that have any synthetic in them can’t be recycled. I never buy high polyester- or acrylic-content items, they are intolerable to my skin, but I do have some with just a little bit of these in them, I’ll have to stop buying them. It’s getting harder as I get older to find fibers that don’t react painfully with my sensitive skin. I think these allergies are acquired with increased contact with them over time (note, I’ve never had any other allergies). Pure silk, cotton and linen, plus viscose/rayon types, are really the only ones I can stand for all-day wear, without a scarf underneath. I hate Spandex, too, and it’s ubiquitous in American clothing nowadays, aargh!

I shop with my hands…have to feel it. I have returned most RTW items to Amazon because the picture looks nice but they looked horrible and felt even worse. The photos are properly made but the actual items are so badly made that seams pucker and sleeves don’t give. Won’t tolerate itching either. I have a wonderful wool sweater that I now use to decorate the cushion on my great grandmothers wicker rocker for the Christmas season.

Oh no! Do you think the knee length printed skirt is frumpy? I got two of those from TK Maxx this year. From Crew clothing I think. I must admit I haven’t worn either yet, and don’t love them. Do you really think they’d add ten years? I’m 68 but feel 38 at the most in my head, but don’t want to look 78!😱 I really don’t think you are too old for pinafore dresses, but guess it does depend on the style.

I do show a knee length skirt i love and do wear, the blue with a green stripe. That's knee length but just above my knee. For me that's more youthful, i think. You could try shortening yours with pins and see if you feel a better vibe for them and if so then take them up.

What’s a cardo? Is that what you call a gym there? I love declutterings, I need to get on with round two of mine, the first round was easy, the next won’t be, so much. My better-quality items are either dated, too big, or both. I have a reduced budget, as well as size, these days and bought cheap smaller things because I thought the weight loss was temporary, but it seems not, it’s been 3-4 years. Most of my good footwear and accessories are fine, and classic enough to wear for now.
