I met Jerry in I believe it was 1999. He introduced himself outside of the theater where we were watching the matrix and he just so happen to be there to watch the same movie and was asking if we’ve ever seen it. I was wearing a 55 Chevy baseball cap that caught his attention and lead us into a conversation about muscle cars. He’s a really cool guy and down to earth. Anyways, that’s my story about meeting some guy named Jerry Whitfield.
About 5 years ago my family went to visit my sister in LA. One day while we were there I got roped into watching my niece in a hair salon while my sister got her hair done. So I'm sitting in the salon lobby playing on my phone, watching my niece and who walks in but Seinfeld himself. At first I was kind nervous and freaked out, I'd just kinda glance at him every now and then, trying not to freak him out. But then my niece starts crying and won't shut up. So I'm trying to keep my niece quiet and not bother Jerry, but, he gets up and walks over to us. He just smiled and stroked her hair, and asked me what was wrong. I said I didn't know. Then he looked me dead in the eyes and said, "She seems like she's hungry." Then he lifted up his shirt and breastfed my niece right there in the lobby. Super nice guy.
This is what comedy is all about. Not amount of specials, not gross earnings....but to earn the respect of not only your peers, but your influences as well. Keep it going pal
Seinfeld was my cool meeting a celebrity moment. Im 28 now, was 17 at the time, so I knew who he was but didn't understand how big he was. My first time in NYC, in Manhattan, a bunch of us were waiting for a light change to walk across the street. It was winter, had been snowing a lot, so the light changes, I start walking and like two steps in I hit a patch of ice I didn't see, almost fall on my face in the middle of all these people but someone caught me under my right arm. I turned to say thank you and it was freaking Jerry Seinfeld. And he must've seen the look in my eye that I recognized him cuz he just smiled and put his finger in front of his lips like telling me to be quiet and just goes "you're welcome man." And went on his way. Wish he wouldn't have told me to be quiet so I could've gotten a picture with him, but I understand why he wouldn't want a whole crowd of people to realize he was there.
I can FEEL Normands excitement at meeting his idol Seinfeld and becoming acquaitned with him... it's oozing through the screen... and it's lovely to watch lol
Wow, a Carlin and Pryor argument, with Jerry Seinfeld. Prior was the pure comic, he could just wing it on stage. However, Carlin wrote out his entire Act ,memorizing it.
Mark has that thing where if he looks someone in the eyes for too long, he will start to see into the soul, get really awkward and forget what he was talking about. It really sucks to have this because he's doing it to stay on point, Not because he's disrespectful. He has a hard time with social interactions and eye contact. I sometimes get this. I can start tripping out when i look directly into someones eyes and i start to become so self aware and awkward and i lose myself and the conversation real quick. I get the guy, part of being weird and fucked up
Yeah man. I’m really social but my eyes are really shifty. It’s irritating. And I used to hurry up telling stories and end up butchering them one on one. But give me a microphone or video me( I do talks and lots of video) and I can spin a web masterfully. I really like this dude, first time I’ve seen him.Seems like the nicest guy and very self aware of who and where he is but yeah he’s bouncing all over the place.
Yeah. Great stuff!! Love the cars and the conversations beyween comics. Except for the Bridget Everett episode, when Jerry goes off on how much he hates Bobcat Goldthwait. I lost some respect for Jerry. Seemed ugly and uncalled-for... it's not a good optic to punch down.
There is one moment where he's going to coffee and he just ridicules this waitresses name for like no reason. It wasn't a weird or dump sounding name it just sound a little odd to him and had to make a joke about her name right in her face
