I checked Amazon after watching the first half of your video and have come back to watch the end now. One of the reviews suggested tieing, instead of to the mirrors or tyres like you have, to the inside of the back doors, there’s a latch or something. This prevents them being untied from the outside by someone I guess and solves the problem of forgetting before driving. That’s a real problem with the design isn’t it touching on the tail pipe or covering the end of it, not only for fumes if the car’s running but for burning the fabric, having a fire or damaging the tent. I would definitely forget not to start the engine as I often run my car for air conditioning. I have a rear tent now which is too big and lots of effort to erect, but I like the idea of this style as it’s easier to set up, I just wish the tail pipe issue was solved. Thanks for sharing your set up video, I really appreciate seeing what’s out there. I haven’t gone camping yet still in the preparing stages and in Australia. I have the Honda CRV also so following all your great tips and experiences! Thanks!
Oh, that's a good idea!!! And it won't go anywhere during a storm, that's for sure!!! I'll have to try that. THANK YOU!!! The first time I put it on it covered the tailpipe. Then I adjusted it and it was on top of it. So I think if the SUV was running for enough time, it wouldn't definitely melt the fabric, burn it . . . do something. I'm wondering if I can put some magnets there and prop it up a big, or use double sided velcro and make it at least 3" above the tailpipe. I will forget and turn the SUV on. I just know it. I've turned it on in the middle of the night, to close my sunroof. (OMG, Australia? I think of those giant spiders. Are they really everywhere?)
Cute video. Always impressed how you figure things out! This looks like it will be something you will really like and use. Very nice that someone gave this to you to help make your adventures even more comfortable.👍😊
Thank you! 😊 I know. I have the nicest friends!! It's really going to improve my sleeping situation!! I'm going to love having the back hatch open now and not have to worry about mosquitoes getting in!
Love the new addition, what a great gift!! I really need to try mine out since I've been driving around with it for 2 years now lol!! You may have motivated me to finally try it! Thanks for sharing another entertaining video!
Love it!! You are a hoot! Thanks for the laugh. I do silly things like that too. 🤪 My CRV is in the repair shop now so it should be finished by end of September instead of Nov/Dec timeframe.
That’s an amazing tent! Even seeing you figure out how it goes under the back and tailpipe. A little sign/post-it on the steering wheel saying, “Noooo. Don’t start me till the tent is not tied to the wheels!” (Also good for the tailpipe not being involved, too.) I’m still laughing, but not at you-with you! 😂
The tailgate tent looks great! That will be great to keep the bugs out too! You’ll know next time, not to drive it while it’s latched onto the wheels & tail pipe. Awesome video! 💕
Yeah, I fixed it to where it was above the pipe and I did notice that the material was sitting right on the pipe. I have to be extra careful with that. Since I almost busted the whole tailgate tent with the straps on the wheels, I'm going to have to make a checklist so I don't kill myself.
I have the same one I commend you it took me almost an hour to get that on. I'm using bungi straps to hold up to my roof rack and for the tires I don't like those straps on tires it just was aggravating to me lol. U did good
I was in a hurry . . . the heat. LOL I didn't tie it down at the top, just the bottom. I have to figure that one out. I think the directions showed attaching it to my front side mirrors. I will definitely have to tie it to the roof rack. Love bungi cords!!!
You are going to love the ventilation with this tent. Before I got my van I had a Kia Sorento that I was going to get a tailgate tent for it. Can’t wait to see how you like it in use. 😁
I have a similar tent from Hasika? same as the awning. Straps broke, so I use bungees and magnets at the top. I like having it open in the back, but I decided I don't like camping in my SUV, so I'm back in a tent with a cot. But I will still use the awning.
Oh, I don't think I could ever go back to a tent. I doubt I'll leave it open in the back if I'm out camping alone, but in a group, I'm going to love it. I love my SUV bed. It's so comfortable. I've actually slept 9 hours at a truck stop before, I was so comfortable. LOL

That was so nice for someone to get you that as a gift! You’ll get lots of use with it camping. 💜
I think so too! I am really looking forward to trying it out. I may have to rough the heat. I have no patience!!!!

I live that this one has an awning, too! Now you can have an awning out back and to the side for some great cross breezes!
You should! If anything, it's great material for a video!!! LOL
And I already have spare poles for it. Eventually, I'll be covered on all sides.
Look’n great for upcoming trips
Check for melted tail pipe hole
Definitely!
Absolutely!!!
I love this video. You just got a new subscriber. Pretty cool tent
Awesome, thank you! Welcome!!!!!!!! 💙💙

Oh, that's great. Sooner better than later. What's going on? Are you getting a new motor/trans?
@OutonaLimbwithKym no, car got rear ended. Needs new hatch, bumper, wheel well and floor board.
that's really cool Kim. I just arrived in Florida last week I'll let you know when the New Channel is up and running.
Awesome!!! I'm looking forward to it!! Be careful out there! I know that you know . . . the heat is bad!!! 🔥🔥

Yes,you nailed it with your comment. Agree 100%.
I saw where the tent could go over the tailpipe. That's good. I'll make sure I do it that way. Post it note is a great idea!!!!! 👍 thanks!!!!
@@OutonaLimbwithKym I kind of thought that it probably is made of nylon or poly, and a tailpipe can get hot in a hurry!

@@kirstenstrobel4387 I will definitely be careful . . . if I remember, LOL.
Hot tail pipe will melt the fabric
Yes that's true, let your car cool down after driving and before assembling.

Heyooo Kym! 👋🏼
I dig your new SUV tent! Nice 😊
Hey, thanks! Now for the days to get cooler, so I can use it!
Love it. Not sure i need it but i love it. Great video. Thanks!
Glad it was helpful! Thanks!!! It's actually one of my favorite products now!!!

Very cool! I'm really looking forward to it!!! I feel like I finally have everything that I need to take off for months at a time!!!

It sure is! I can't wait to use it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A booty nappy!
😂😂🤣🤣
Cool! Well, hopefully it will be cooler, lol.
Ah, I can feel the breeze now!!!!
@@OutonaLimbwithKym lol
Dont leave your car going with the muffler covered. It will burn a hole in your tent
I have to figure out how to magnet it up, so it won't be touching it at all. THANK YOU!!!!
