I watched the whole reaction! This was a really good guide and very up to date for the most part. I throughly enjoy when SHINee makes a big impression to new viewers! Thank you for your reaction and appreciation for my SHINee ultimate group.
As an old SHAWOL I thought I was gonna be ok. Lmfao. I bawled when it just touched Onew and then I was a complete mess at Jonghyun. Onew being the bias, even though each member of Shinee has a big part of my heart.
You will see the audience holding lightsticks in pretty much any Kpop live performance. The lightsticks are a part of the artists' or groups' official merchandise and it's one of the items that fans purchase to represent that they are a member of that fandom. As you saw, SHINee's official lightstick is shaped like a diamond. And if you hold it up and look at the reflection the diamond makes, you will see a 5 point star to represent the 5 members. SHINee's symbol is a diamond because they SHINe(e) like diamonds and it lights up an aqua blue/teal color because pearl aqua blue/green is SHINee's fan color. And before LED lights existed, which allowed a wider range of colors, SHINee's fans often had green glow sticks. And before that, fans would wave a blue balloon that was SHINee's aqua blue color. Almost all Kpop groups have an official lightstick and official fandom color. The fans spend a pretty good amount of money to purchase those lightsticks. I am sure if you search any group with the word lightstick you will find several sites where they are for sale. But be warned, most are pretty expensive because most are more than just a light. :D For example, EXO's lightsticks are controlled by bluetooth, so the lighting technicians can change the color of the lightsticks whenever they want and they can make it flash and pulse to the music. Plus, each of the EXO members have their own official color so, often when specific members are performing on stage they change the color to whatever color coincides with that member. EXO's lightstick has the EXO hexagon symbol on top and it says EXO in the middle. Although EXO's lightstick is multi-colored, most lightsticks are primarily one color -- whatever color represents the group. NCT's lightstick is a big neon green square block, which is supposed to be an NCT building because NCT are part of the Neo City, etc.; and WayV's lightstick is a V shape to represent that they are the vision; both are neon green because NCT's/WayV's fan color is Neo Pearl Champaign. BTS' lightstick is the ARMY bomb so it looks like a TNT-type bomb. BlackPink has a pink hammer. BigBang's lightstick is yellow and it has a crown on top because BigBang's fandom is VIPs and BigBang are known as the kings of Kpop. Some group's lightsticks aren't even sticks, but they are bracelets or watch-style lights that you can wear. It all depends on the group. And some groups that have been around a long time, or whose company likes to continuously come out with new merchandise, have multiple versions of lightsticks. Each are very unique and specific to the group. However, in some older Kpop group's performances, from their older concerts or live performances you might see that the audience only has plain stick lights, or, even, glow sticks. Before there were lightsticks, fans brought or were given glow sticks in the group's color. And even before glow sticks were a thing, fans would all wave a balloon that was the color of their group. (The only disadvantage to that was that the artists on stage couldn't see the balloons when the lights were off. LOL) And during award shows and events where multiple groups are present the group's lightsticks and balloons are, and were, an important way for fans to show their support for their group and to tell everyone around them who they are there to see, etc. Yes, I believe all of SHINee's albums are still in production, so they should all be fairly easy to purchase if you want to own any of them. Plus, most Kpop albums are on music streaming sites so you could download the album as well. However, what makes Kpop albums unique is all the extra content you get with an album and the high-quality packaging that goes along with the theme of the album, etc., so it makes it worth the extra cost to own the album or even multiple versions of an album. FYI: Make sure when you watch "Our Page" that you also pair the MV with the official lyric video. Every word of "Our Page" was wrote by the members and it's all about Jonghyun. If you know what the lyrics are about it will help you to understand the story being told in the MV. (It would be helpful to understand the lyrics first BEFORE watching the MV.) The official lyric video is posted on SM's !t Live channel, ruclips.net/video/Ij0fwQtU3Kc/видео.html. Onew learned how to tap dance because he starred in the musical stage play Singing in the Rain, which is a famous musical. Singing in the Rain was made famous by Fred Astaire, one of the most famous dancers/actors in Hollywood. The dance style Singing In The Rain is famous for is tap dance. Therefore, in order to play a leading role in the play, Onew needed to learn how to tap dance. The clip you saw was when Onew performed a special tap dance during SHINee's SHINee World Concert IV in Seoul, in 2015, which was not long after Onew was in the musical, so he wanted to show off what he learned as a solo stage during the concert.
I have so much appreciation for reactor who goes into this guide. This guide took months to be released, made by best Shawols ever. Been watching your SHINee reactions lately. I’m so touched and just want to say thank you
The photo in my phone case is Shinee the whole group all 5 members and I carry a picture of Jonghyun around with me at all times. I absolutely love shinee
All able-bodied native Korean males must serve 18 months in the military or conscripted public service before the age of, I think, 30. (They used to be required to serve a full 2 years before the age of 32, but a few years ago the South Korean government reduced the service time and age limit.) Military service is just a requirement as a Korean citizen. However, Taemin's enlistment will end up being a little longer than most because a few months into his service he transferred from the Army to conscripted public service duties outside of the military due to an increase in his anxiety and depression becoming worse. Which is why Taemin's enlistment period was extended about 6 months. He enlisted May 30, 2021 and was originally expected to be discharged in November, but due to his job change, his discharge date was moved to the end of March or early April. Requiring all males to serve in the military is how the government insures that they always have a fresh and ready group of soldiers. Technically, the Korean War is still going on, it has never actually ended. So although they currently have a truce with North Korea, South Korea needs to always be on alert and ready just in case North Korea decides to attack. So Korea's military is always active. And, while in the military, it's against the law for them to do anything except their military duties or whatever their public service job they are assigned to is. So Korean men are granted time off from their jobs or career to serve. Military service is actually looked at as a big honor, and although Idols are sad to have to leave fans and take a break from their careers, they embrace their service as a duty to their country and a right of passage. All male Kpop stars who are native South Korean will take a hiatus at some point to serve their country, so we fans are left waiting for the members to return. Therefore, Kpop group members will hardly ever all enlist at the same time because, while some of the members are on hiatus, the other members need to continue activities in order to keep the group in the public eye. Taemin is 2 to 4 years younger than the other SHINee members, so he waited to enlist until the other members were discharged. When Onew, Key and Minho were enlisted, Taemin was extremely busy as a solo artist and a member of SuperM. Although, most of the time entertainers are not just serving like a regular soldier, often they petition to be part of activities that keep them working in entertainment type jobs, such as performing as part of the entertainment for special military showcases. For example, Onew was part the Army's promotional team where he spent a large part of his time participating in military themed musicals and plays. Key was part of the military's marching band and/or orchestra, as well as an MC and host for military events and programs. And Minho participated in a military sanctioned soccer game, etc. So, even while they are away serving, if you search RUclips, you often can find fancam videos of most of them, where members of the public during special events have recorded the Idols as they are performing, etc. So we often still get some content from them, even when they are on hiatus. :D Or like Taemin, instead of serving as a soldier, an idol may petition to serve in government jobs, such as a member of the police or other public service positions. Taemin was originally enlisted as part of the military band. I think Taemin thought the military band would be a way to keep his connection to music. However, the change in his regular routine, along with other factors, wasn't good for his mental health. Plus, he was an extremely high-profile soldier, so he probably felt a lot of pressure with everyone's high expectations of him. Therefore, Taemin, his doctors and military officials decided it would be better if he transferred to a public service job outside of the military, which would allow him to have more of a normal routine.
I'm glad you reacted to this guide, as it's really one of the best and made with love. Shinee's the only kpop group I follow anymore and I hope that even if you don't retain much from the video, at the very least, I hope you see how they are all just upstanding humans with integrity and INSANE talent, making their way through Korea's entertainment industry, and they deserve all the best.
Thank you so much for this reaction and for your interest in knowing more about SHINee. More SHINee video reactions please especially their amazing live performances.
I'm now constantly checking if you have uploaded any SHINee reaction. I have enjoyed watching every reaction including this one. Thank you so much and more power to your channel.
As always it was so fun watching your reaction! Thank you for taking the time to watch this short documentary LOL. If you want to continue with SHINee's music, it may be fun to watch their MVs in order of release so you can watch them (literally) grown up from teenagers to men in their 30s or to maybe check out one of their concerts in parts (I highly recommend SHINee World IV). The whole thing is on YT. IU's Palette episode from 2021 is also fun to watch because it has performances and stories about them over the years. I'm sure you're still working your way through the list of other songs/videos that Shawols have recommended so I'll enjoy whatever SHINee group or solo reactions you do 😀

To answer you question about finding the older albums, Older albums can be found on EBay some can be quite spendy though, because albums are not usually reprinted. I became a Shawol I’m 2019 and have gotten almost all the old albums off eBay
Great reaction!!! This was a super thorough guide haha I'm glad it showed so many things for you to be excited about!! After finishing the video, I can answer some of your questions: every sm group has a color tbh, shinee has pearl aqua, exo has silver/grey, etc. Lightsticks are possible to get online yes! You could do it officially through sm (their service isn't that great so I don't recommend it lol..) but there are tons of sites like amazon or ebay or other online markets that sell it too!! I got my shinee lightstick through amazon. As for albums I'd also recommend searching around online, you can still get them but I wouldn't say they're easy to come by ahah.. I was able to get the 1 of 1 album pretty easy online though! All in all this was super fun and can't wait to see what's next! :D
This guide is really informative and I haven't watched it before so I did so along with you. I have to say tho that the informations are way too short on the screen and a lot of people will not pause to read all that, especially when doing a reaction to it. Can't even blame them.
