    Lyrics:
    我看著 天真的我自己
    出現在 沒有我的故事裡
    等待著 我的回應
    一個為何至此 的原因
    他明白 他明白 我給不起
    於是轉身向山裡走去
    他明白 他明白 我給不起
    於是轉身向大海走去
    我聽見那少年的聲音 在還有未來的過去
    渴望著 美好結局
    卻沒能成為自己

    Absolutely amazing!
    Could you do the same for simon says?
    Pinyin, I assume is the written form of mandarin(?), here helped me understand a little bit about the pronounciation of the words and helps a lot to sign along for those who can't read the signs!
    You rock

      ohh i love that song too! will put it in the list. pinyin is the pronunciation system of chinese, pretty similar to english. characters are the written form of chinese. we also use pinyin to type out characters!

      I forgot to say thank you the first time around:
      So thank you very, very much!
      Mandarin (chinea) is a very intriguing language to a german like me who's language is beautiful but mostly dry as it can be.
      Especially since I learned latin aswell.
      It's like the polar oposite and I can see the charms.
      If you were to do simon says, i'd appreciate it alot!

    I just wonder, is learning a tonal language with music effective, given the melody often takes precedence over the tones?
    I just worry it will be counter-effective to learn new words from music if the tones aren't correct and instead follow the melody

    • @JiayunMandarin
      @JiayunMandarin  2 года назад +6

      good point! in some parts of songs the tones do sound different. but i think having the exposure of new words/sentences, being able to memorize them easier in a song are still pretty worth it. sometimes i asked my students where they learned certain words they’d tell me it’s from some songs. I haven’t seen my students brought up the tone issue. I think recognizing it can be a good start, if you’re seriously learning the word you can memorize the tones later on?

    • @munro1272
      @munro1272 2 года назад

      @@JiayunMandarin Yeah, it seems it becomes a battle between "does the benefit of getting exposure to sentence structure and lots of new words/sentences outweigh the potential risk of developing bad habits with tones (i.e. having a certain sound for a word ingrained in your head even though the true tone should be different)".
      I kind of think the the exposure to new sentences in a memorable way (melody) will outweigh potential bad habits, which should be able to be fixed later on with not much effort. Also it seems the tones are actually quite aligned with the music most of the time! - maybe it's just the songs you pick, or maybe it's me just imagining things hahah
