One day I went on the Prince’s islands and in the middle of the forest there were a bunch of girls listening to BTS 😂 I guess Turkish people really like Korea too.

      Turkey is a “White” country too but also has a Muslim majority and therefore non-Western. I don’t get why people think Turks are the same as Moroccans or Indians. They would never assume the same for South Italians, Spanish, or Greeks (or even Malta!)
      IMO majority of Turks are just South European looking (I think Kurds too, but they also have more exotic types) and there is a bulk of Balkan Turks and Balkan Slavs like Bosniaks. If Turks were Christians no one would ever call us “POC”.

    I've only been to Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Cambodia, Germany and Austria, but I know that Turkey's unique geographical identifier is that it's the only country that sits on two different continent, Asia and Europe. And the unique thing about it is that the different continents of Turkey are separated not by a line on the ground but by a body of water. The two halves are joined by a bridge. It is a fallacy that you need to travel widely to know about many countries and their culture. As far as information is concerned, everything is available on media. There's the internet, and books that you can read. That's general knowledge. It depends on whether one is interested or not. What you can't experience thru the media is immersion of the culture, taste of authentic local food, smell and feel of living among the locals.

Turks and Koreans had interacted each other so many years ago. (as a neighbour tribe) For example; Koguryŏ and the Turkic Khaganate relationships from ancient times. Yeah mate, sure.
      But Turks do not assume Koreans are brothers because of the war; they have a weird deep sympathy to Koreans.
      I say that is going to change soon. They are waking up to the fact that Koreans don’t really give a hoot about Turks.
      Understandable, I guess. Be happy and safe :) As long as you don’t hate us Turks, we are good.

      Mediterranean Europeans and Balkan countries have big similarities to Turkish ones. Ottoman Empire had a huge land in Balkans. Turkey was also Roman Empire before.

    • @brainblox5629
      @brainblox5629 8 месяцев назад +4

      Thats because the Ottomans influenced them. The core of the Turkish mindset is very close to traditional Chinese and Korean, but often its projected through a Persian, Arabic lens. Girls for example shouldnt show so much skin both in Asia and Turkey, but in Turkey its just amplified with basing it on Islamic teaching. Originally its about dignity though, in Asia, showing skin was usually connected to being too poor for clothing.

    • @ashnhergirl
      @ashnhergirl 8 месяцев назад +2

      @@brainblox5629There is a difference, though. Koreans generally choose to show off their legs but cover their chest area; while in Turkey both are shown. No matter how short dresses Korean women wear, they draw the line somewhere. I don't think there's a core Turkish mindset since every part of the country has its own culture due to living with non-Turks during the Ottoman period. For example, the western part of Turkey is highly affected by the Balkan-Greek culture since the Greeks and Turks coexisted there for a really long time. (+Balkan Turks)

    5:40 K-pop is only popular among youngsters but South Korean movies and series are liked by everyone. They are windows of Korean culture, I watched lots of them with my mother and we mention some aspects of Korean culture in every production. Kim Ki-duk's masterpiece Geumul for example, shows how sophisticated and observatory Koreans can be.
    A Prime Minister under Francisco Franco y Bahamonde said, "Real Madrid CF is the best embassy we have ever had." and RoK studios are too best embassies.
