It featured four world champions. There is no doubt fischer is the greatest of the twentieth century.
Fischer reached the peak of his chess strength by 1970 when he was practically invincible. He was the rightful challenger to Boris Spassky in 1972. But the world championship duel at Rekyjavic was blemished by Bobby's eccentricity and bizarre demands (no TV cameras?, playing away from the audience in a ping-pong room? ....ridiculous, not done). Spassky shouldn't have conceded an inch and exited. Instead of Taimanov, Larsen and Petrosian, Fischer should have battled Korchnoi, Geller, and Tal/Keres at the Candidates' stage.
