He is undoubtedly the greatest player of this generation. It is impossible to compare eras, of course, because the game has changed so much. It may be that, in time, he will be spoken of in the same breath as Gareth Edwards. In terms of pure skillset, for my money, Edwards still has the edge, albeit slight. I don't think we've seen Dupont doing proper reverse passes like Edwards did, nor (I think) drop goals on the run. If he can show those skills, especially the reverse pass, then they will have to share the throne.

He is a great player but he isn't even close to being the GOAT. Club Rugby achievements don't even really Count when talking about the GOAT. You have to show your best on the biggest stage and his achievements in international rugby are minimal.

Every team in the world has literally changed the way they play because of him. It's a testament to his impact on modern rugby.

@ almost winning a quarter final in the World Cup in your own country wouldn’t be a big achievement for the GOAT. The whole All Blacks team also almost Won the World Cup by one point. The fact is besides the 6 nations he has no other international achievement. Never won a test series in the Southern hemisphere. And yes I get it that the French don’t sent their full strength teams but that doesn’t change the fact. Also unfortunately can’t be picked for the Lions which would add to the resume. I guess in some minds seemingly those in the North he is the GOAT but in the South his achievements don’t compare to the All black greats and even recently the Springboks.
