I don't know what it is about this music, and all of the other tracks for this game, but it's like you can "feel" what Max is going through and actually understand his personality. His past is so dark, and his conscience so well-placed, you have no choice but to feel remorse for him. He's such a great man who has been put in such an extraordinary situation, but he pushes on, knowing his time will come to the end he has been praying for. But he remains alive in his misery, no matter the pain and depression, moving himself along with drink and painkillers to block himself from going over that final edge. And instead uses his misery (which fuels his extravagant reflexes) to push out the pain inside him onto others, who want him dead. In my eyes, this is the perfect combination of a man reaching his end, but decides to push on with the well-being of others in mind. He's not greedy, not selfish, and he acts upon his courage. It may just be a video game, but Rockstar knew what they were doing here. They made a good man face the worst situations, and kept him alive. If there was ever a way to choose how we die, I would choose to be in the shoes of Max Payne in this game. He is the perfect definition of a man who follows his own morals and convictions, and never does it for himself (other than the drinking and pills). This story also isn't afraid to show what a human being is capable of once everything they love has been taken from them, and no matter what people say, anyone who has gone through what Max has, pills and/or alcohol would be the escape, because humans have reason to self-sustain, and this was Max's way to press on. And he did so with such passion, you can't help but wish his misery would soon end. Well done, Rockstar. Well done, indeed...

I've been looking for this for years.....years....I would even play the mission over and over again just to hear it.
I'd suggest to replay it again :) It's still a very nice stage to re-visit.

I dig this version because it has some damn fine percussion creeping into the melody like in the game version and unlike the official soundtrack version.
I think the uploader miss one part, that is in game when Max reach the exhibition building, the pace of music gets faster and has more drums than before. Also, when Max first got on the upper level of the yacht, the music changed too.
@@franklinclinton2998 yeah he definitely missed the drums part in the upper floor of the Yacht, I've been trying to find a video with the drums but so far, I only found one
@@franklinclinton2998 Technically it doesn't get a faster pace when it gets to that part. It's all the same tempo to keep the flow of the level but it has more notes and sounds more epic to give it that fast pace, action feel. HEALTH did great with this soundtrack
I want to found the in-game version of this OST. Idk why but the in-game version looks more dark and raw.
If I knew the world was going to end and I had no escape, this music would feel appropriate.

I swear to god, i have played many many many games and am extremely into music, especially soundtracks, without a doubt Max Payne 3 has the best Original Video Game Soundtrack there is. I'm not talking about just one song here and there, i'm talking about measured when looking at every single track made for the game.

Thank you kind sir. This is good. The part I was talking about was when he gets with Passos and they're slaying the clowns by the zipline. It has the snare but its also mixed with the west African drums and the keyboard section. It starts when Passos starts running towards the tower. I don't think it's an actual part of the ost, just some ear candy to tease folks
I love the subtle tribal drums in the background, gives a bit of Predator vibe.
The look of Max in 3 is so inspired by DeNiro in Heat. even the music in this segment is very reminescent of Heat's OST

why is the title calling the music generic ? There's nothing generic about it.
It's the "relaxed" part of the track. The "tension" versions of the track are not.
