- ( www.TFLtruck.com ) Have you ever seen a 1920 Cummins diesel startup and run? Watch one of the first Cummins stand-alone diesel engines come to life! It has 6 horsepower and 60 lb-ft of torque @ 500 rpm. No turbo here...

Still more legit than Nissan's V8 Cummins
Amazing video, thank you for sharing
Bad ass
now do the first powerstroke engine !
+mohammadkwt i believe it was recalled in 1942
+mohammadkwt No one cares about powerstrokes, so....
+Torrey B hmmmmm I think your fact aren't right
+samus989 most of the people are using powerstroke engines so I don't know how your logic work
Oh yeah, right. Except Cummins engines are in everything medium and heavy duty.
"so I don't know how your logic work" either dumbass.
Can anyone tell me what type of motor it is,
Matt Spann.... You're Kidding.. right? If not, it's a single cylinder Cummins Diesel... one of Clessie Cummins' very first... but was NOT completely of his design, it was built as a licensee from the R.M. Hvid Co. in Europe. His very first Truly Cummins designed diesel was the Model F which was a vertical 2 cylinder engine which was built about 4 years after the little single cylinder in this video... in 1924.
The new duramax is going to have 905 lbs of torque and 485hp many thigs have been changed It Is now called the LYZ I work at the main gm center In detriot and I saw the documents thst had the ststs. This Is coming out in 2017. Don't believe me? Check out he youtube video I have of me sneaking in and put it put ig a go pro on I have pics of he document on instagram. @ evanturgeon6.6
Please send us the images at info@tflcar.com
The Fast Lane Truck ok I had to delete it of my instagram so I'll send u all the images thru email
+Eric Fortune Considering the Cummins QSB6.7 puts out 550hp and 1250ftlbs of torque, they still have a little more play room to go before they really max out the engine.
i doubt it izuzu can make a engine that makes that power for 200k. i doubt they are magically going to bump the power up 87 hp.
+Evan Turgeon how to lose your job^
That's right folks. Cylinder deactivation was available in 1920. No computers needed either. Looks like Cummins has lost some features over the years.
That’s due to the governor. If you were able to see the linkage it holds a rod back to keep it from firing which is really smart. It’s really just designed to run at a certain rpm. And it won’t fire if it’s close enough to that rpm.
Not even remotely close to how cylinder deactivation works. Imagine being so arrogant and so technically illiterate at the same time
@@pootispiker2866 Surely you can see how easy it would be to make a fully mechanical cylinder deactivation setup based on these concepts? If not I'd be questioning whether you're the dumb one here.
These still are scattered around my home state of Ohio. Shows every year with dozes of these alone just attached to various pieces of equipment, my favorite being the homemade icecream makers!
Having watched, and listened to, the Nissan Titan video, I'd say this engine is considerably quieter than the 2016 version, and a damn sight better made. The guy talking is also considerably quieter than some 2016 motor mouths and a damn sight more knowledgeable; he'd be perfect for TeamTFL.
***** The word ' obsequious ' is more becoming.
Pretty sweet. We use a single cylinder John Deere hit and miss to run our homemade ice cream machine. This would be pretty cool to use for that. You could make a ton of ice cream at once with that thing.
can't wait till Nissan uses this engine on their Titan XD.
Lolol too much trolling
no ford will
+Franco Solis
The "new" one cyl Nissan diesel XD will get around 46 mpg but top speed is only 38mph and load cap is 150 lbs.
It's great to see a very knowledgeable owner.
Wonder what the boreXstroke is
has the same torque as my current car...
maybe ram can put that in their half ton trucks. rather than the fiat diesel or eco diesel.
Bigger than a Honda engine and it’s 1 cylinder. Beautiful
What no PDF or urea ?
+mememojo fuck off
Aweeee baaabbbyyy 😓
Guys I think he’s joking
PDF? Clown.
A piece of Cummins history that has been long forgotten.
The history of the diesel engine begins in Germany with the invention of the engine by Rudolph Diesel. Rudolph Diesel ran his engine at the 1900 World's Fair on pure peanut oil.
His intention in his engine design was to make an engine that could be run cheaper by using vegetable oil instead of the new petroleum oil being used for cars. It would also enable farmers to produce their own “fuel” from their crops for their machinery. However, the rapidly growing petroleum industry quickly made their version which was cheaper and would remain so for decades. Today however, fuel costs are obviously much higher and thus Mr. Diesel's original intent for his engine design can finally be realized by the masses.
It began in Britain, not gemany.....
I was just watching a video about Rudolph Diesel and learned that he was killed or murdered or accidently died, anyhow they didn't go into great detail they just said somehow he fell of a ferry and drowned they found his body on the shores of some lake..... oh and he was rich and smart and was buddies with Edison.
I've seen a few in a show we call Stumptown Steam Threshers in Harrison County Ohio. It's held annually about 10 miles from my home.
6 hp 60 pound-feet of torque!!!!
Hey Roman, drop that puppy in your Bronco and go 4 wheeling :-)
Winchester / Get well soon
Sounds better than a 6.0
And just as noisy as now!
Seems like MO Reeves may've a had a hand in this What say you?
Oh mah gawd it's bigger than a honda😂😂😂😂😂
I think that guy in the red t-shirt smokes weed
still better emissions than VW
VW Trying to pass emissions
I can see why nissan wanted one of these in their pickups. Its got that "Robust american feel" to it. XD
not the first cummins......
Not racist at all but white smoke from a diesel 😢
Looks like it's only unburned fuel when the engine isnt firing
A thing of beauty

i hate cummins desels but this is a nice pice of history
+Wade McKenney why do you hate cummins?
@@gunny1911 Maybe he likes Detroits
badass engine to put on a lawnmower
wow
Nordberg!
I'm from Caldwell had to be around me somewhere we have old engines like that everywhere all through the woods
Ol hit and miss
+Will Langley No where near a Hit/miss engine.
Ratkill9000 that's where it's all started my friends it's the same doesn't run much different
Hit and Miss refers to governor system and even though it sounds like it that's because it's not hot yet and not lighting every cycle. Also it really is a Hvid engine which if you do some Internet searches will find was a short lived and we'll forgotten about chapter in IC history.
This thing has 10 times the amount of horsepower in torque. Amazing..
