Bran telling Theon he is a good man is the last part of Theon's redemption arc, he has now made peace with all the starks he has wronged. Theon never wanted to live, he wanted to be forgiven.

This is not "yay bran knew". This is fuck "bran" manipulated arya into freeing the NK from his icy emprisoned in front of a weirwoodtree like how he got cursed to begin with. Only life pays for death. Arya will reBIRTH the dragon AA cause she got pregnant around the time she killed the NK.

a bit of foreshadowing for Arya was when Jon was in front of the Weirwood in episode 8:1 and he asked her how she snuck up on him.
The look on his face when he hands it to her says it all. Plus they show that dagger in a book Sam was reading in the Citadel.

I like to think of that last scene as Arya's "Eowyn" moment. In The Lord of the Rings, it was said that no man can kill the Witch-King of Angmar. Since Eowyn was a woman, she was no man, and she was the one who eventually killed him.

Mad shoutout to Beric for protecting Arya even after being fatally stabbed multiple times, The Hound for saving Arya, Theon for defending Bran till the end & Jorah for fighting to protect Danny until very end, even after what should’ve been instant kill stabbings.
Eh, not instant kill but he shouldn't have been able to get up from those and would have died pretty soon as he ended up doing. I think that one got me the most, in part because of how much emotion emilia put into it. I don't think I've seen her show that much grief and sadness before :(
@@Heldemon That being said, such wound should not exist since he has plate armour (I'm always dying a bit inside when I see swords (or anything really) pierce plate armour). Any realistic wound of such a kind would have been an insta-kill (throat, head...). But hey, I get the need for spectacle...
Everyone did their part, if at any point, ANYONE involved had not fought til their end they would have been rolled in minutes.

One of my favorite scenes in this episode was the one with just Theon and Bran. the way i look at it, it's Theon's last act of bravery after being a coward for most of the show. his death was inevitable. He was like Cedric Diggory (Just a spare) and instead of just waiting for death to come to him, he charged headfirst towards it. I think it was a pretty good way to end his story, more so because he was completely forgiven by Bran before he died.
Steve called it way back in Season 7. Remember Steve noticed the look on Bran's face when he handed Arya the dagger.
Ser Friendzone accomplished his goal, he died for his love and queen and she shed tears for him

Yes Steve, Arya DID just kill the Night King. Which is why she is the biggest badass in Game of Thrones. Never mind Dragons, if they want to take out Cersei, they should just put Arya into a catapult and fire her at King's Landing, she'd wreck that place like a meteor.
@@Wat450 Not everything that Arya does is perfect. I've lost count of all the times she's nearly died and nearly died in that battle, and kinda leads that mom and daughter to a fiery death in ep 5. But after years of her training im perfectly comfortable with her killing the Night King. Someone else said in this comment section that just because the victory is owed to Jon, just because he united everyone and lead the army, doesn't automatically give him a duel with TNK. I wouldn't have minded that at all, but life doesn't always work like that. And i doubt TNK would even let Jon get that close to him and didn't earlier in the battle. Also if your TNK it would be stupid to risk what your trying to accomplice fighting a guy known to kill white walkers just because. Probably would move him down the list of my all time favorite characters. Danny was always going to become evil, but i do wish they didn't rush it so much. Give it another season of her going insane.
@@Wat450 There are explainations for the "Iron fleet bullshit", you just have to think further than your nose.
Same with The Bells episode, there are sufficient context and buildup for what she does, and had you been paying attention you'd see it's not completely out of character. (considering that her first thought was to burn King's Landing to the ground).

Both dragons were badly injured during the fight. That is probably why they weren't there. They escaped. Rhaegon fell (hurt) after the fight with Visceryon. Drogon was stabbed by hundreds of wights. By the time he returned for Dany, Arya happened.

Watching it for the first time there were a couple of moments where I genuinely thought "oh no, we're watching the living get rolled, they lose and the few survivors will have to get south."

Bran got the NK in the Godswood, Theon could have left, but chose to go down fighting.
I haven't heard anybody yet making a comment about the hair moving on that White Walker at the end... it was caused by Arya rushing by.
Also, Melisandre's powers were ending, that's the reason it took her so long to light the fire around the castle, and that's why the red stone went off right after she took the collar out.

Winner=Queen Cersei :)(her army is intact, the night king is "gone", and her enemies armies are decimated.
This episode made me change my prediction...

A girl is the Night King slayer! Just awesome. A totally epic episode from start to finish. This is a TV show remember. And it's the best sequence I have ever seen.
It makes her trip to the churchof black/ white and all the assassin training make sense now , Unexpected but awesome how all pass seasons effect storyline in the end On to kill the evil Queen in the south
Thawk 67 Everything they all did, everything they have been through, has made them who they are and where they needed to be at that precise moment in time. I think Bran must have a degree of foresight. He somehow knew Catspaw was important, and that Arya needed to have it. So many people were frustrated at Bran, because he just seemed to sit there, and let it all happen around him. But that was his role too. To create a scenario where the Night King would be lured to him, and for him to become over confident.
The Night King could have held back, and let his army kill everybody before finally killing Bran. But he wanted it so badly, he made a single mistake. And that mistake was to not realise that a girl had a particular set of skills!

Tears started falling when Bran said his thank you and goodbye to Theon. But I was gutted seeing Jorah die in Dany's arms. He loved her and protected his Queen til the very end. Now, the only thing that has me wondering about is why Bran keeps looking over at Tyrion. Could it be that Tyrion will kill Cersei? Or that he will betray Dany? I don't know. All I know is that Bran knows how this will all play out. Great reaction guys. It was fun seeing Lacey be so stressed out lol.

This is one of those episodes seen best in a dark room. It helps a little with telling what is going on, but unless you're using a night vision mode on your camera, it's difficult to do reactions.
This one episode spanned less than a single night and took 3 parts for you to cover, so it is aptly named "The Long Night" for that reason, as well as the more obvious fighting through the night and the waiting for the battle to start being long from the perspective of the participants.
jorah stepped out of the friendzone for only a short while when dany found out jon was her nephew.
he fought for her and kept coming back no matter how many enemies.
the man loved her so much and she, i believe, loved him too.
her cries for him felt so real! she didn't even cry for viserion that hard!
emilia clarke was right. jorah was always "the one" for dany. 💔
Now that The Walking Frozen Dead is over with, we can FINALLY go back to the Game of THRONES.
Bran also knew Theon was going to die. He thanked him, what he did not do to Hodor. He was learning.
In actuality, Bran painted his eyelids white and then just dozed off.

Exactly my feelings at that moment.
What's Bran gonna do? He's basically a seer, not a wizard. And the only human he could enter the mind of was someone with a simpler mind, like Hodor. There's nothing he can do except what he's already done, which is to tell them all what the Night King's final intent was (to kill him), and where they needed to put him to lure the NK out. He gave them the information, and it was up to them to see it through.
Bran wasn't telling Theon to do anything. He just knew what Theon was going to do, and gave him some last words to give him peace.
I’m not sure if you guys are aware, but the image of the show is flipped at the bottom of your screen. We were basically watching a mirror image of the show.

Noone can kill Night King, who's noone?, Arya. This show is the best. Some people say NK went down easy, dude he killed 2 armies and several key people.
I think that what i miss from this episode was an actuall fight between some of our Heroes and the actuall icy walkers. When we feel that it was too easy, we mean that we didn't saw none of those icy walkers do anything beyond that, walking. The only fight we see was on the dragons but that is more a dragons fight than anything else. I was specting to see actually arya kiling the NK but while his fighting against Jon or Brienne or Jaime, that was dissapointing im afraid. And speaking more, i was specting to see that in the episode 5 or 6 at kingslanding, not at episode 3 right after the massacre. Remember the Aftermath Trailer they launch a few months ago, they showed us a dead winterfell, this is not a dead winterfell, they won. I was hoping to see a second fight around kingslanding where Cercei have no other choise but to support the living. Right now i dont know what to think, the episode was big and amazing, but the consecuences of this long night more actually a short night, ending this soon is probably that the end will be around Cerceis death, not so very exiting if you ask me.

If this was in the book, I can see Bran rummaging through the ice remains searching for the sharp stone that made the Night King. Maybe he then carves some runes, to reprogram it or something. Maybe, delete the whole "Kill All Humans" program that the Children of the Forest put into it, replace it with "Protect the Border Lands of the Others" .
And then he gestures Arya for a hug... and then shoves that stone right into that "hole where her heart used to be". She is a servant of Death. A Stark MUST ALWAYS be in Winterfell. This will be a permanent solution to that little covenant that was made with the Others.
I have never screamed anyones name so much when i screamed "ARYA" when she killed the Night King.
GOT season 8 ep 3 is the best one so far, I don’t know why people are piss about it. The main point of the show is the throne not the NK, white walker is just a obstacle, and the night king is easily kill, and he survive from the blast of the dragon, the dagger is dragon steel glass that Arya is using, what to you expecting? And sword to sword fight? People always miss the important details or part, they didn’t even been attention to the show so you shouldn’t complain.The night kind have never fight in the show, he summon his army, only thing, the dead is all over the winter fell and they kill the most people in any battle, this is worth it, it the best episodes so far with a epic battle, a lot of death, a long battle, awesome dragon vs dragon fight, this is the special episode, the way that bran just sat there so calm and so confident and unperturbed is just suddenly hit me. I know that Arya is gonna kill the NK, and Jon under the dead dragon the blue flame, at the moment I thought Jon will kill it, but the way NK catch Arya is awesome, and the surprise attack that she polled and the way she dropped her dagger is just amazing, her training to be a assassin is pay off. It just bran predicted, the hype is worth it, and the wait is worth it, you guys just don’t appreciate it, and no matter what they do to guys will still complain about it, just enjoy the show. When the night king were kill and all of his army fall I got chill, in this whole show I was at the end of my seat with tears and joy. I’m make a prediction that the night king will rise in king landing instead of winter fell, you guys say the winter only last for a minute, You can’t make a claim at the show without actually watching the full episodes, the winter lasted the whole episode, and besides there is only three more left so just chill, NK May or not be back, I didn’t aspect that Arya would kill our epic fantasy villain, I like that it I didn’t see that coming, that what make GOT great, and the way that NK lore dan and Jon with a epic battle. Only thing I have a complaint is that not enough battle scene and too many characters live, I’m just over joy that both Jon and dan ride a dragon and just battle with them, Jon did great, it a great diversion, it united the stark with dany, this season is one of the most epic show I ever witnessed

I recently did a rewatch and I plan on doing another one. There are so many little things to miss! And so much to mention. But I wanted to mention that I noticed that while initially it looks like Sansa/Tyrion are going to commit suicide (though I never got that feeling) it is obvious that Sansa is pulling the dagger out to fight for her life (and possibly for others) and Tyrion's expression is of admiration. I'm pretty sure he tosses his flask in that moment inspired by her action, and they share a small smile. I thought this was so sweet. If you watch the behind the scenes, you'll see they actually filmed them killing wights! Wish they included this. They stepped up!

It surprises positively by not giving into typical expectations and shows us a more realistic approach:
No Azor Ahai, no dumb fantasy tropes along the lines of some chosen one, just teamwork, luck and a highly skilled assassin 🗡
-Arya was built up from early seasons, Melisandre said that Arya will shut brown eyes (Frey), blue eyes (Night King) and green eyes (possibly Cersei?)
Honestly even Martin wrote her like she'll be really important in the books, she is one of his personal favourites along with Tyrion
-It fucks people up who went with Azor Ahai. Jon Snow could still be very important but it shows us that prophecies are just that and breaks with boring hero tropes
-Gendry will not die, he's the last Baratheon and Tormund is too important for the wildlings
-Characters like Sansa, Arya, Gendry, Davos, Tyrion were safe from the beginning and it was 100% clear that they will survive
-Jamie and Cersei will die together but the former will be in Brienne's arms in his last moments, also Cleganebowl
-The books do some things right but there are also some really awful, unnecessary, confusing and plain bad plot-points in them.
Above all, there are too many unnecessary characters and storylines in the books, they should just have the most important characters (like it's done in the show) and highlight them
-Lady Stoneheart is incredibly dumb, boring and invaluates Catelyn's Death. It's also as stupid as Mance Rayder surviving in the books by disguising another dude as him, it's way better if they just die and we deal with the aftermath
-For the record, i read the books first but i didn't like dumb ideas like Stoneheart from the start (i understand the concept behind it what with vengeance and the price needed to pay for it-just don't like it)
As of now, i think that the show overall works better for me 😁
The most satisfying result of this Episode though are the tears of salty fans and whiney dudes 😂👌
ps: Okay to be fair, Azor Ahai could still be true. In a weird but mind-blowing theory Jaqen H'ghar was Rhaegar Targaryen before he became no one, he survived the battle of the Trident because another guy was disguised as Rhaegar via the use of rubies from a red priest (like Mance Rayder was saved in the books) 🔥
Following that theory, Arya (the niece of Lyanna, the love of his life) became his "Lightbringer", the blade with which he slays the NK.
Jon Snow, Rhaegar's Son, would be his "Song of Ice and Fire", the union of House Stark+Targaryen which unites Westeros after defeating the Night King with Lightbringer/Arya 🤔
Alternatively, Jon Snow is Azor Ahai with Arya as his Lightbringer, the blade which kills the darkness.
Whichever theory holds true, Jon Snow/Aegon Targaryen is definately the "Song of Ice and Fire", the unity of the Houses

@8.35 lol bit harsh on Drogon there Steve. He was covered in wights and probably didn't get rid of them until the NK was defeated, at which point he came to his mum to comfort her how he could/grieve with her.

kingblazE she killed a whole room full of Freys. Chances are at least one of them had green eyes. They’re not going to have her kill the NK and Cersei both.
