Symphonie n°1, Louis Vierne - Par Tjark Pinne, étudiant en DNSPM orgue à l’isdaT

Tjark Pinne, étudiant en DNSPM à l’isdaT, dans la classe de Stéphane Bois, joue l'Andante et la Toccata de la "Première Symphonie op.14" (1899) de Louis Vierne (1870-1937) sur l'orgue Aristide Cavaillé-Coll (1889) de la basilique Saint-Sernin à Toulouse. Vierne avait écrit la symphonie pour l'orgue Cavaillé-Coll (1863) de Saint-Sulpice à Paris où il assistait alors son professeur Charles-Marie Widor. Dans ses concerts, il jouait souvent l'Andante, contrasté par la Toccata.
Dans le programme d'un concert qu'il a donné à Bruxelles en 1925, on peut lire : « L’Andante de la Première Symphonie est construit sur un thème chantant et sur un thème rythmique qui lui est opposé. Ils se développent tous deux dans le plan d’un second thème de sonate, le thème initial fournissant les éléments principaux du développement. Le Final a la forme d’un allegro classique à deux thèmes : le premier exposé à la basse, le second en canon entre la partie supérieure et la basse. »

Tjark Pinne, student of the DNSPM course at isdaT, in the class of Stephane Bois, plays the Andante and Toccata from the "Première Symphonie op. 14" (1899) by Louis Vierne (1870-1937) at the Aristide Cavaillé-Coll organ (1889) of the basilique Saint-Sernin in Toulouse. Vierne had written the symphonie for the Cavaillé-Coll organ (1863) at Saint Sulpice in Paris where at that time he assisted his teacher Charles-Marie Widor. In his concerts he often played the Andante, contrasted by the Toccata.
In the program of a concert he gave in Brussels in 1925 it says: "The Andante of the Première Symphonie is based on a songlike and on a contrasting rhythmical theme. Both themes are developed in the sense of a subsidiary theme, while the first theme provides the most important elements for their development. The Final has the form of a classical Allegro: the first theme is introduced in the bass, the second theme is treated as a canon between the upper and lower voices."
