Pilot Tip: Picking up and Landing an AS350 Helicopter

When transitioning to the AS350 people often have a hard time learning to pick it up and set it down smoothly. The process is not difficult once you know the proper control inputs.

The thing I recall many years ago was what's called PIO. Pilot induced oscillations. The AS 350 is a very responsive aircraft. Very slick. If you just relax on the flight controls, very minimal input is needed to achieve smoothness in any maneuver.
