It would be wonderful if one motor could do the same thing.

Excellent, thank you for sharing your invention. Now I wonder whether my husband would sacrifice his angle grinder???

Very good project. I made the horizontal wool winder into electric with a sewing machine motor set up with a pulley belt to both.

Hi David, thats a really good idea. There really ought to be a dedicated home users electric winding machine

Hi Jessica. As you saw in the video, It was hit or miss whether this was going to work or not. Sadly I have now sold all my rug making equipment along with the cone winder. But the answer to your original question was yes I did think about getting a Chinese manufacturer to make a better version of this which I could sell but I didnt think there was a market for it

This is amazing! What happens if you hit a knot or tangle in the yarn coming from the skein?

Hi Anna, I do occasionally find knots when I'm winding. I feel for them before them before they end up on the cone. I simply stop the machine and unknot. It's a bit annoying but only takes a few seconds

Thanks; I do a lot of machine knitting and am constantly winding yarn.
