Man....just feel like going back in time sometimes. It feels like so many things were better in the past. Of course I like some of the music produced today, but I was born in 89, and there was some darn good music prior to that year and after.
If you listen to them tell the story of how they were formed and their trainee days, it's even more amazing that they even made it, let alone stamp their mark on K-pop in the way that they did. Nowadays you audition at a big company like SM or whatever and get assigned to a group or dropped if they think you aren't good enough. god was basically a motley crew of Joon and 4 teenagers + JYP as their producer/vocal coach/composer/hyung/consultant.
I literally cried during the mv....in roommate season 2 the g.o.d member talked about his mother having a hard time.... I think this song was dedicated to his mom...
yeah it was since most of the members mom passed away when they were raised up and only some of the members grew up only with a father and it was so sad
i really dont know the meaning of this song at first so i searched for its english translation. this song is quite sad. i cried while listening to this song while reading the english lyrics
Translation: Mother I miss you. From the time I was young, we were poor. Unlike other people, we hardly went out to eat. When my mom wasn't home, I would make myself an instant noodles and eat alone. I got really sick of instant noodles. I yelled at my mom for better food. She reluctantly took out her emergency savings, and ordered a bowl of black bean noodles. I was really happy. However, my mother didn't eat for some reason. She said she didn't like black bean noodles. (She said she didn't like black bean noodles) That's how we live. That's how we regret, we cry. That's how we live. It hurts so much, but we smile again. In my first year at middle school, during lunch hour, we gathered together and opened our lunch box. This rich kid yelled at me. "What the heck is that lunch?" Mortified, I started to tear up. Then, that jerk started to tease me for my tears. I couldn't take it anymore and punched him in the face. My mother was called into school once again. She was called in... no, she was dragged in. "This won't happen again", she pleaded. With her head down to that jerk's mother, my mother pleaded. My mother pleaded. That's how we live. That's how we regret, we cry. That's how we live. It hurts so much, but we smile again. Even with out a father, we were finally able to make it. We opened up a small restaurant. Though it wasn't big, we were happy. Tears were filled in my mother's wrinkled eyes. We named the restaurant after the first letters of my mom and my name. We offered our prayers. It was late at night and on one seem to be leaving anytime soon. People kept congratulating us. When it finally reached midnight, everyone left. My mother must have been tired. She quickly fell into a deep sleep. And she never woke up again. I loved you. Though I never got to utter those words. I love you. Now, rest in peace, forever in the world without me. That's how we live. That's how we regret, we cry. That's how we live. It hurts so much, but we smile again. That's how we live. That's how we regret, we cry. That's how we live. It hurts so much, but we smile again.
I start to love this song because of suho mv remake and also because of park joon hyun self in roommate..... but i love yoon kye sang first since 2005 because of his first drama which was my sister in law is 19 before know him as a singer..
this song is the SH!T ! i was 12 back n 1999.......i'm hmong....born n live in MN, USA. and during that time k-pop ( S.E.S, Baby Vox, Fin. K.L, etc...) was a big HIT for us HMONG even tho we didn't understand the language but sound good ! !
even without that much of makeup that male idols wear today hoyoung looked so good looking, and even now he barely aged, also he can't stop himself from smiling 😊 even tho song is hella sad
I think there is another reason people chose jja jang myeon (the noodle), because, In 1990s, Korean kids used to like jja jang myeon. pizza and hamburger were not familiar to most Poor family at that timeㅋㅋㅋ
Joon immigrated to US and his father died few years later. His min had to had two jobs to make ends meet. She was working at a factory and there were few Korean immigrants who shared lunch together. The mother brought home his favorite dish - japchae. He asked her “do you want some” and she said “I don’t like japchae” so that he would eat without feeling guilty. And the left over japchae, she sacked it for his lunch. When he brought it to school and opened it, his friends would make fun of him “what is that? Is that worm? “. He got into an altercation with a classmate and his mom had to be called into school.
lol yeah, when you translate it to english it sounds funny, but the lyrics are actually really sad. Just one of those songs you have to understand Korean to get it.
The reason why some parts of the lyrics is all about food, because they had a had experience living in a dorm without being taken care by the company that they used to work... just watch 20th century of handsome boys episode 3, you will know the reason, its kinda depressing though
DRCLBMZY it was based on their experiences of living in very austere conditions and Joon's experience being raised by a widowed mother. This song debuted in 1999, just 2 years after the Asian financial crisis. Many people lost their jobs and money was tight. People could relate to the lyrics.
1999. wowww. finally god is now coming back, 2014. we need these kind of good music back

Meaghanne Mack he look old when he younger but he never aging from that old looking.
The Bulat his own dongsaengs have said the same thing when they got back together. Even his personality was exactly the same lol
