You’re a great teacher, I’m a prospective Smooth Jazz saxophone from Ghana 🇬🇭 an intermediate saxophonist ever since I started learning the saxophone on my own I’ve found your RUclips channel so insightful 🥹🎷🎷 Especially with topics concerning modes, you’re the only person who has given me the right concept 🙏🙏🙏🙏
I hear you. Everything that I’m teaching right now in the courses, will be what you must understand, in order for me to show you how to use it in future videos. My plan, is to lay the foundation… So in the future, when I show deeper things, I can always refer people back to these foundational lessons, in order to make sure they can understand and follow me. I hope this makes sense.
F sharp is the same note as G flat, C sharp is the same as Db Now, about changing it up a bit, maybe I missed it when explaining, but the point was….you can use any mode…it doesn’t have to take a lot of thought, use pieces or all of any of them. Hope this helps

@@smoothjazzsaxophonelessons9226 yes, very clear sir
"We're going to change it up a bit." But you don't say why or what the mode is. Why exactly are there F and C sharps?
F sharp is the same note as G flat, C sharp is the same as Db

Use any of it, just try to make it musical(make it sing, resolve it). It’s all about finding your way at this point
