You beat me to it! I was thinking of doing a long term review of my bike as I just passed the 300 hour mark. I was just out at Ocotillo Wells and rode some of the same hill berms you guys were riding, some are quite big. One trick on the Skydio is to fly it in the Fixed Track mode. It really helps when the trail is snaking back and forth and will give you more stable footage.
Well lets hear what 300 hours is like! The people want to know! Would be a great time to announce your Camberish T-shirt! I'll give Fixed Track a go. Thanks. Great seeing you this weekend!
@@theposerhoser I haven't done any work on the engine except valve clearances and replace a failed Dirt Tricks timing chain tensioner. My bike now has 535 hours and 9011 miles on it, all of it offroad, and it's running great. I did just replace the wheel and swing arm bearings but they looked good and I probably didn't have too. Also the rubber dampers behind the clutch basket get old and hard but are easy and cheap to replace. Other things are just regular maintenance items like sprockets, chain, chain guides and air filters. I would check the spoke tension every 5 or 6 rides as they seem to loosen up, depending on the terrain you ride in. It's a very reliable bike but that's not to say things can't go wrong.
I had the same headlight fuse issue on my 2021. The dealer caught it right as we were going to load up my bike in my truck. Took them 2 hours to figure out what was wrong.
Sounds about right. A friend had the same issue and it wasn't the fuse, so I didn't start there. I checked EVERYTHING else first. Won't let that happen again.
Moto minded has a bazel That fits Bahaa designs Light and you Can aim the light.I also found a set of turn signals I think you'll like from true north Moto. They wrap around your fork just under your bottom triple clamp They also work as running lights illuminating under your fender and where your friend tire is.I'm doing a lot of updates this year on my bike I think I'll do a video showing some of the cool stuff I found who knows when I'll get to it though work been so insane Thanks for sharing
Thanks for the tip on Motominded, I'll check it out. I've seen those turn signals, they look trick. Let me know if you install them, I'm curious if there will be any binding with the wires. Looking forward to seeing the updated jetski!
Im really tempted to buy one of these with about 200 hours on it. Sounds like mostly easy trail riding, was lady owned. It is about half the price of a new one. I dont think the piston has been replaced; do you think this would be a good buy?
200 hours for half price isn’t bad. I would just check for a hard start, slop in the steering stem, wear on the swing arm where it meets the mud flap, and ask about valve checks and if the fuel filter has been changed; not the little one from the tank, but the large one in the tank. Hope that helps and you’ve found a deal!
Yes. At a little over 200 hours because it was smoking a bit. I think the smoking was caused by a bad valve seat. I have a video on the rebuild if you want to check it out. Thanks for watching!
@@BrokenEnduro thanks, was that the first change, and how did the piston look. I have just bought the same bike with 190 hours on it, and it’s not had a piston yet and runs well and doesn’t smoke so I’m wondering if I should do it or not. KTM say to change the piston every 80 hours which seems crazy!
That was the first change. Other than some Carbon build up, the piston looked good and the cylinder was great. KTMs service intervals are for race conditions.

Did you have to do the piston on yours? I'm very close to buying one. 211 hours of light lady driving but I'm scared it might be a money pit

I'm in the same boat, valves are always good. 💯
HA! You need to show me how to check them on the new 300!

That next covid check should be coming any day now!😂 Thanks for watching man, glad you liked it!
