Today I'm removing the carburetor from my Yamaha F2.5 AMH 2012 Outboard motor. I bought this cheaply as a non-runner. It was used as a reserve for a sail boat in France and only ran a few times from new. It was then sat up for over three years and since hasn't run. I guessed it needed a simple carb clean and it would be fine. If petrol is allowed to sit in the carburetor for years the petrol breaks down and leaves a varnish-like residue all the way through the carb and will often block the very small jets and passages through the carb and so starving the motor of fuel and not running. I used an ultrasonic bath with acetone to clean all the hard to reach areas of the Yamaha F2.5 carb. So with this in mind in this video, I will show you the process of removing the carb, cleaning, and re-fitting and finally a test run.
