Love and Oblivion

As of writing this, on the evening of May 12, 2023, I've officially finished high school. I haven't graduated yet, but it's nonetheless a strange feeling to be freed from the responsibilities that have followed me for the last 13 years of my life. It's a welcome change, along with so many other things in my life, and I had my fair share of low points during the last few months especially. This level is my attempt to visualise my journey towards breaking out of the repetitive, self-destructive mindset of never risking disappointment in my daily life - because, as luck would have it, things got a lot better once I chose to take that risk. So, enjoy this three minute journey through some of my thoughts and feelings.

This is genuinely incredible.
The narrative is painted in such a wonderfully abstract yet tangible way with the cage, the bright prismatic light, and the dark landscape surrounding it symbolizing the fear of going outside your comfort zone, but also the beauty of going outside of your comfort zone. The long and endless drag of the dark scenery with the cube twitching about in the cage, yearning to escape for the longest time, but with the bright rainbow light signifying a much more profound and choiceless change is coming, and that something big is about to happen.
And then the green section, where the cube escapes, in upside down gravity, symbolizing how everything has been turned on its head. This new environment is mysterious, unfamiliar, and maybe even scary, with gaps in between the structures where the cube falls. But even when it does fall, it finds a way to land back on solid ground.
I do not know you, but through this level I can see how it ties with what you were attempting to convey as written in the description. After all, art is merely an extension of the human condition, and Love and Oblivion, is an extension of you. An incredibly picturesque and beautiful visualization of it might I add. Genuinely in love with this level. Good fucking job man, probably one of the best levels I have ever seen.

holy shit. thank you so much, I don't really have the space or will to give the full context for this level but you managed to pretty much nail it and that makes me really happy. I love seeing what people are able to draw from my works and connect to their own experiences; in helping myself, sometimes I'm also able to help others.
I never really expected this level to become what it has - it started as something to fill my free time and destress me during my last week of final exams, and it slowly grew and blossomed into what it is now. I'm so, so glad for responses like yours, and I hope I've inspired something positive in you with it and my other works. Have a good one man

to add onto this a little, rates are somewhat meaningless to me at this point, since I already have 6 without this level and my intent was really just to visualise some of my feelings. however, I can now proudly say it's my first featured level that I made entirely solo, and for an XL auto level to do that is something I rarely ever see. Words like yours give me the motivation to keep doing this, and I have no intent of stopping anytime soon.

with a lot of story levels or levels that have a lot of meaning i feel like im often lost trying to figure out and decipher what the level is supposed to mean, but with this level, the idea and the story is laid out in a really really pleasant way, i love this to bits!!
