Competitive eater Takeru Kobayashi finds being in documentary tough to swallow

- Twinkies, pizza, hot dogs, even cow brains. If it can be eaten, chances are Takeru Kobayashi holds the world record for eating it. But seeing himself on screen in the latest ESPN "30 for 30" documentary, is a little harder to swallow. (July 1)

He stopped competing at Nathans because they wanted to lock him into a deal that would force him to only compete in MLE (Major League Eating) events and he didn't want that. He wanted the freedom to eat internationally. Unfortunately he doesn't get the press he deserves in the US anymore because all ESPN cares about is Nathan's. He's the one that made the sport popular and everyone to this day is using his water dipping technique and shake to get the food down (called the Kobayashi shake). Hope nothing but the best for the guy.
Joey Chestnut is the poster boy they say he's won some but most of the time he still has food in his mouth.

Recently I came across a shocking news that "Kobayashi retired from competitive eating, and since his brain perceives that he is still eating, he no longer feels hungry, even though he never ate something for three days." He was a legendary competitor in this field, and I hope he could recover his body (especially his brain) and stay healthy for the rest of his life.
