As a defender owner the g is my dream car, not the gangster amg versions but an imported g professional is the one for me. The most badass offroader there is.

Fun fact - don't know if it's been commented before but with the doors Mercedes actually deliberately retained that sound. Also when you lock/unlock the doors you can also hear the locking mechanism even in the latest model.

I like it but the 2018+ new shape is worlds apart from this shape, baffles me why anyone would spend money on this shape. Rented a 2015 g63 for a weekend and the drive was horrific, however great road presence

I dislike these but then there is the fact that the have side exit exhaust which sways it a little for me towards liking it.
Cant see the appeal on these things at the price they sell for, if they were half the price then yes I can understand it, but way to expensive IMO obviously..

I'm a big fan of Mercedes AMG cars, and the 55 / 63 Amg engines are amazing. Do a resonator delete and it will sound incredible. Nice to see some more AMG's on the channel Calv 👍

A year later average price is well over 80k on our third lockdown hahah.
I also own a 13 g63 53,000 miles. This year alone I've done passenger valve cover, oil pan gasket, steering dempener, and replaced the AC box previously destroyed by another shop. Now I see my turbo seals are leaking.
I love the W463 platform, and specifically this era of amg but the build quality in the plastics are horrendous in to my e92 m3.. but I'm assuming the heat this engine puts out is it's Achilles heel.
Love the drive. Super unique, and a great investment in terms of resale and longevity regarding that "cool" factor and street cred regarding it's off-road capability

Brought a 2013 g63 and love it. People need to realize what this vehicle is about. All the bells and whistles but not a luxuary confort, not a fuel miser, not a lot of things. But, solid, off road worthy, reliabile(so far) and intetesting. Not my prime vehicle, replaced my 05 Hummer due to rust issues. Overall Im satisfy.

I can’t believe all the hate these are getting on here! They may not be the prettiest thing to some,but they are monsters off road and prob the most reliable vehicle that Merc makes. I like them a lot. As far as the Defender goes tho,give me the old one over that new one anyday of the week.

Amazing looking menacing cars, the door shutting sound is the best feature for sure. I like to close and open the doors on my W210! they sound so solid and satisfying.

Carwow tested a gangster wagon against a Suzuki Jimny . Off road and there was not a lot of difference in capability. Between the two ..
