Teoma Group has demonstrated its capabilities in the industrial electrical sector with the successful installation of a state-of-the-art plastic recycling plant. This ambitious project, spanning over ten months, marks a significant step forward in environmental sustainability and technological innovation. Teoma's involvement underscores its commitment to innovation and HSEQ best practices.
A dedicated team of Mechanical Technicians, Industrial Electricians, and Apprentices, with guidance from senior Operations Managers with over 35 years of combined industry experience, dedicated 9500 hours on this complex project, ensuring high attention to detail at every stage.
The project was designed to revolutionise the recycling process by converting baled plastics into reusable shredded material, a critical initiative for reducing landfill waste and promoting a circular economy. Teoma's meticulous approach prioritised the safety of both team and client staff.
The Mechanical team's expertise was evident in the seamless assembly and installation of facility components, including conveyors, magnet frames, optical sorters, hammer mills, shredding machines, zig-zag sorting units, and de-labelling units. The in-house technicians also crafted custom ladders and handrails to complement the raised walking floors. This level of technical proficiency is a testament to Teoma's ability to handle intricate and large-scale industrial projects with finesse and in line with HSEQ standards.
A key factor in Teoma's project success was the precision of the industrial electrical work. Experienced electricians installed over 2 km of sub mains cabling and over 15,000 meters of cable, essential for the plant’s machinery and operational safety. Their commitment to safety was further highlighted by a thorough safety device audit and thermal imaging of over 214 devices.
The collaboration between the Mechanical department and the Industrial Electrical teams was fundamental to the project's success. Their involvement from the start ensured seamless operations and successful commissioning. The flexibility of Teoma's team, capable of adapting to rapidly changing requirements and meeting strict deadlines, played a significant role in the project's success.
