Let me explain ... The gas efficiency issue showed in the video occurs to EVERY GBB PISTOLS. Just when you shoot continuously, the gas will cool down, resulting in thermal contraction. That's why there is still a little bit of gas in the magazine. Sorry, but it does happens a lot to the TM ones. It happens to my TM M92F, running with HFC 134a, after much less shots, in Brazil, under very hot climate. Its not a design flaw, just like you said in the video.
I know you don't post airsoft videos anymore but for anyone watching this that cares or just got a hi-capa and needs some tips, it is recommended that you replace your outerbarrel with non-recoiling/fixed outerbarrel and shave down the locking lugs on the slide which can clearly be seen at 12:10. The locking lugs are the 3 raised portions on the slide in the middle. You can see a lot of wear on the third locking lug which will correlate to damage/wear on the outerbarrel. This decreases accuracy, cyclic rate, and slide smoothness.
Just a note on the hold-open thing. I have never seen an airsoft gun that actually has the sling shot feature ( pull back slide and hold-open releases ) at least not by design,On some REAL guns, the slide-stop is actually spring loaded so it will fall back when a fresh mag is inserted ( or mag removed ), There are ways to modify this and get the slingshot feature but are not very clean.
@@RiceQB actually for hold open, the reason you cant powerstroke it is likely to do with a non full travel of the slide. Rice QB The AW is not a WE. You make the mistake that many people do and assume just because the parts are manufactured in a specific factory, they are the same. It is true that AW parts are made in the WE factory, but they are held to a higher standard. If WE doesn’t deliver proper parts, AW won’t take them. It’s like saying „this car from brand X is actually from brand Y, because they make the seats!“
If anything, it's still better than older WE Hi Capas. Probably some newer stuff I have an AW frame and actually, can fit a TM 1911 slide (provided I remove the slide lock rail) It's a bit too tight so recoil is almost non-existent, but it shoots fine surprisingly. Some AW frames and slides are super proprietary so of course compatibility may vary.

This pistol looks nice but it truly sucks it’s marketed toward people who want a flashy hi capa. I will admit that the external is nice but, the internals are awful. I purchased this for the looks when I didn’t know what I was doing. It came out of the box and I put half a mag through it and it broke refused to fire. It wasent the mag because I had got serveral. Evikes customer service is great I returned this and got a replacment just thinking it was a dud. My replacement held up a little longer, I fielded it 2 times and I wasent rough on it by any means. Terrible performance the accuracy is awful. Anyways mid game it stopped firing again broken. I returned it and picked up a much much much more reliable gun the elite force 1911 tac it may not be as flashy. This is a great starter gbbp and has done wonders for a first pistol. I abused that thing and it still after a full summer of going every weekend running mag after mag is still kicking and there is just about any internal part available if it does break. If you have more cash to spend and also want a flash hi capa. I would recommend by a Tokyo Mauri 5.1 hi capa. These will run you about 150-170 depending on the model but these have so much customization options. You can do just about anything with that gun you can make it whatever color you like and make it fire like a laser.
@@RiceQB did you give it a full clean and overhaul, clean off any residual lubricant, wipe it down with a sterile wipe, then apply fresh lubricant only where needed
TM is twice the price to achieve performance of a higher series aw. Blowed about 10000 bbs with mine in 6 weeks (action air). It's about the maintenance. You can't expect it to have no failure for 2 years. TM needs some love and spareparts to
TM is the same price as AW and performs much better. Bought an AW to mess with it and was incredibly up to date with maintenance, maintained it like I do my custom built hi capa and still ran into issues. Failed me within 2 months. Problem with AW is the almost entirely proprietary upper than you can’t put better parts in.
Geez. I'm building hicapas for Years. Right now I'm using a scratch built airsoft masterpiece parts filled one and an aw supercomp. First of all. After 2 Years u r using a gun with Stock hopup Rubber which is a trash from aw at start and its getting even worse after Years. Second: after that wear of the hammer I think its a miracle that it shoots. After 2 Years, you should replace the hammer set of every Stock hicapa, for a steel one. Doesnt matter if its tm or not. Third: gas effiency. If the hammer is in that bad shape, i'd check the valve knocker aswell, coz im pretty sure its in the same shape. Conclusion: after 2 Years of intense use, almost all the gbbs and gbbrs need major part changes, so these kind of test are kinda irrelevant and wont Tell the truth about the gun. And remember AW is a budget replica where you pay for the outer parts and u have to replace the inner parts. While were talking about marui, you have to change the outer parts, and you can keep most of inner parts. Most of them doesnt meen that all of them. You still should change the hopup Rubber, barrell, and maybe the bbu aswell. Overall aw is not a bad choice if you know what you should change after some time. It has its weak spots but its still a decent gun.
THIS IS NOT RACISM JUST OBSERVATION, all the asian airsofters i have watched are religiously supportive of tokyo marui and seem to hate anything that tries to compete with them, they always complain about everything while comparing it to a tm, AGAIN, THIS IS NOT RACISM, JUST PURE OBSERVATION AND COMMENTARY edit: but seriously though, aw custom does do decent guns, just they oem to WE, and WE has poor quality control, all you need is to go to your local airsoft store and check in house there aw customs, and find a working one
im not complaining, its just i have only ran aw custom since they first started producing airsoft, and i have never had a single issue with them, only a couple of times did i need to replace some parts but that was user error (i used c02 and forgot to put in the co2 parts needed to run it)
@@RiceQBthe broken outer barrel is definitely an oddity, there one piece cnc'd aluminium, so if it broke it must have been a bad cut, the hammer dent is not on any of my aw customs, and ive been using them daily for a few years, the slide lock problem is actually one that a friend had, sometimes it shears and is rubbed away making it non existent, the extended mags to me personally throw off the balance when shooting they look cool but make the gun clunky
You must oiled this too much but this gun need much of oil on your scratched parts this gun need little bit more attention to oiled than others but when you oiled this much you got most beautiful and good weapon. And about magazine you destroy little part and its goin this (all of problem are your bad conservation and attention with this gun) :/
ALSO, TOKYO MARUI ARE OVERPRICED LUMPS OF PLASTIC, AND LATELY I FEEL THEY HAVE BEEN SLIPPING IN TERMS OF QUALITY CONTROL, THE ONLY TM I OWN IS THE GOLD MATCH CUSTOM AND ITS ACTUALLY A GOOD ONE, BUT OTHER PRODUCTS BY THEM I TRIED WERE POORER BUILT (this is my opinion as this video is yours, but i bet you still get offended by me)
@@RiceQB not trying to roast, just to point out that telling the world your religious about a brand is a bad idea, just say you personally prefer tm, that way its less likely to get targeted by people, i actually love my tm gold match, its my go to for cqb, but i use aw custom for competitive shooting because of performance needs
I've owned a Tokyo Marui M92F. Its the worst GBB I've ever had. It Cracked slide with 8 days use, using green gas. Also broke the left side sabety lever, and the right side safety decocker spring and pin came off, rendering the entire safety system totally ineffective. 2 year later, I was able to find a new slide (I spent two years searching for a slide around the world). After 1 month using only HFC 134a, with very low fps, the slide cracked right in the same point where the old slide broke. Another problem was with the piston lid. It dilated and came off of the cylinder and the pistol was unable to shoot. Also, the springs in its entirety are crappy. Very weak recoil spring, when you aim upside, the slide would come a little bit downside only by its weight, thus affecting the gas seal. The nozzle springs are also extremely weak. The nozzle always got stuck in the hop up chamber, the springs just could not pull it back. Hammer springs are also short-lived. The gun seldom shoots in double action mode.
Honestly bro, to me it just looks like you didnt take care of your pistol and giving it the needed TLC, the way you handling ur gun with the mag changes and cocking, sounds like you just bashing a gun you mis used and broke
Thanks for watching! now I look at it I agree, I've been taking lots of firearm classes at the moment when I took that video. You have to be hard with the gun but not with airsoft...
You're absolutely insane if you think a stock TM would hold up to 10k rounds on Green Gas. You're spending 100 bucks on a new slide eventually, guaranteed. That being said, the aftermarket support for the TM far exceeds that of the AW. Yes, you can get replacement parts for the AW custom, but that's all you'll get: Replacements, not upgrades.
@@chriscos123 my friend has a stock tm and has put over 11000 rounds through it (ef greengas). But it finally did crack at around 500bbs after 11000 and put a new slide for 65$ (3d printed) and works flawlessly for only under 200$ reliably unlike this aw filth

Do u clean and lube it normally
Yah, everywhere were friction meets and I rings, but this was my result I probably got a factory defect.
do you do regular maintenance ?
jason liu-brennan, yes I did lubed everywhere where friction/moving parts, and O-rings where available.
@@RiceQB did you give it a full clean and overhaul, clean off any residual lubricant, wipe it down with a sterile wipe, then apply fresh lubricant only where needed
i feel like he hating on it a liite to much bc hes used for 2 years so i feel he is kinda over reacting
1K! hekk yeah!!
JKW Audio ik we did it!!!!!
Bro, the outer barrel is supposed to come apart because you just took out the inner barrel, they are 2 separate things
I think it’s funny how u guys hate on aw because of this he has been running it for 2 years this is to be expected
Stripped screws from the factory seems normal lol
Hello rice farmer
alex morales what’s good! My fellow rice farmer!
Maybe it’s because it’s 2 years old
Dude i just Got it and Right out of the box it didnt work...🤬
McRib - it was cold when you used gun?
Did u add gas 😂
You know what's funny...he talks about how annoying the leaf spring is but he fails to figure out that you can buy replacement parts
Yah I’m not spending a cent on a WE or AW, just bought a TM. and I’m doing fine.
Is this a review or hate vid I can’t even tell
TM is twice the price to achieve performance of a higher series aw. Blowed about 10000 bbs with mine in 6 weeks (action air). It's about the maintenance. You can't expect it to have no failure for 2 years. TM needs some love and spareparts to
TM is the same price as AW and performs much better.
Bought an AW to mess with it and was incredibly up to date with maintenance, maintained it like I do my custom built hi capa and still ran into issues. Failed me within 2 months.
Problem with AW is the almost entirely proprietary upper than you can’t put better parts in.
Can i have it. If is garbage to you. I love to have 1.
THIS IS NOT RACISM JUST OBSERVATION, all the asian airsofters i have watched are religiously supportive of tokyo marui and seem to hate anything that tries to compete with them, they always complain about everything while comparing it to a tm, AGAIN, THIS IS NOT RACISM, JUST PURE OBSERVATION AND COMMENTARY
edit: but seriously though, aw custom does do decent guns, just they oem to WE, and WE has poor quality control, all you need is to go to your local airsoft store and check in house there aw customs, and find a working one
im not complaining, its just i have only ran aw custom since they first started producing airsoft, and i have never had a single issue with them, only a couple of times did i need to replace some parts but that was user error (i used c02 and forgot to put in the co2 parts needed to run it)
Thanks for watching I guess my AW was just a really bad factory defect. I’m getting a mixed bad of opinions on this. 😂
@@RiceQBthe broken outer barrel is definitely an oddity, there one piece cnc'd aluminium, so if it broke it must have been a bad cut, the hammer dent is not on any of my aw customs, and ive been using them daily for a few years, the slide lock problem is actually one that a friend had, sometimes it shears and is rubbed away making it non existent, the extended mags to me personally throw off the balance when shooting they look cool but make the gun clunky
aw custom guns always use the red gas never the green
BRUH CLEAN YOUR DAMN GUN TAKE CARE OF IT
You must oiled this too much but this gun need much of oil on your scratched parts this gun need little bit more attention to oiled than others but when you oiled this much you got most beautiful and good weapon. And about magazine you destroy little part and its goin this (all of problem are your bad conservation and attention with this gun) :/
Michał chwalisz OOPS! Oh well
An this is a very biased opinion when he even stated he hated this gun
It's not biased it's just a garbage gun same with almost all aw pistols
@@chutemi-ph4kj its a decent gun
ALSO, TOKYO MARUI ARE OVERPRICED LUMPS OF PLASTIC, AND LATELY I FEEL THEY HAVE BEEN SLIPPING IN TERMS OF QUALITY CONTROL, THE ONLY TM I OWN IS THE GOLD MATCH CUSTOM AND ITS ACTUALLY A GOOD ONE, BUT OTHER PRODUCTS BY THEM I TRIED WERE POORER BUILT (this is my opinion as this video is yours, but i bet you still get offended by me)
I hope you had a great time attempting to roast a teenager 😂😂 wow you got me there, I’m so offended.
Would you like to participate in the TM churches on Sundays? We have a pastor talking about all the TM Plans and our love for TM 😇😘
@@RiceQB lmao
Change the hammer
The blow back housing are the worse I’ve ever seen just buy a tm
You can say that again!!, I betrayed my native brand and that’s what happened.
What your insta bro I changed up to a tm 😅
@riceqb_
Those won’t survive 10k rounds dude
Ikr!!, should have bought a TM
You're absolutely insane if you think a stock TM would hold up to 10k rounds on Green Gas. You're spending 100 bucks on a new slide eventually, guaranteed.
That being said, the aftermarket support for the TM far exceeds that of the AW. Yes, you can get replacement parts for the AW custom, but that's all you'll get: Replacements, not upgrades.
chriscos123, yes you are right but I use duster gas with TM, but now I have hpa so I just use the pistol at 80psi.
@@chriscos123 my friend has a stock tm and has put over 11000 rounds through it (ef greengas). But it finally did crack at around 500bbs after 11000 and put a new slide for 65$ (3d printed) and works flawlessly for only under 200$ reliably unlike this aw filth
Man... Just fyi we mags did the exact same thing in my tms. Seems you should just stop crying and spend the 700+$ you need to so you might meet your expectations
ALEX Hahha thanks for the advice, I honestly don’t care about that gun. I just went HPA. Thanks for watching!
