Even with it being 5+ years old I found it extremely helpful! Thanks for sharing.
Awesome! Thank you very much. It may be an old video but the technique does not change.
Honestly this is one of the best videos on RUclips for building a vanity cabinet. After watching this I'm confident I can build one. You have a gift for teaching! I don't have a grandpa to teach me this kind of stuff so I'm glad I could borrow one through RUclips haha.
Wow, thank you very much!
You are so right
As soon as you said "I can do it this way without help" I knew you were the right design for me. I built a laundry room folding table using your video today! Thanks. Signed ... Pop Pop.
That is awesome! Glad this video helped you
I've search 100's of cabinet tutorials and THIS method will be how I build mine. This is the best method for every skill level. Thank you!
Awesome!! Very happy that you found a method that works for you. Anytime you need an answer check here first. Ask and I will try and help you.
I have to admit, yours is the best technique of building a cabinet, accurately without depending upon measuring numerous times and without the need for an assistant for completing the task. Grateful thanks for sharing such a wonderful build tutorial.
Thank you very much.
All man I thought the $1,200 price I got for a custom bathroom vanity was a deal until I watch this. You are a excellent teacher sir. I now feel if I had the right tools and a few of your helpful how to videos under my belt, I could save myself the $18,000 price tag I was told it would cost to replace my kitchen cabinets. I don't know if I'll be successful but I'm going tool shopping, thank you so much.
Stay tune, I will be building some bath vanities in the near future for a home remodel.
@@PawPawsWorkShop can i get the measurement for this please thanks nigelfrancois19@gmail.com
You actually did, do not let the video fool you...what you are seeing is years of experience which creates Mastery which then creates Fingerspitzengefühl...so calm down grasshopper.
you caught the DIY bug! Hope its fulfilled all your dreams.
Awesome video!! I’m fixing to build a cabinet and needed to know how to do the kick plate at the bottom. You documented this!! Now, I’m ready to begin my project -with your video close at hand!! Ty, PawPaw.
Glad it was helpful! Thank you
Paw paw you really helped me, I'm a recent carpenter, thank you so much for giving me advice on this skill
I'm glad that I am able to help.
I have been doing woodwork for some time and have watched lots of cabinet videos. You my friend have the simplest way of doing it. Especially without all kind of specialty tools. I am about to start a project in my shop and will be using this way to do so. Can't wait to go threw more of your videos and see how you do the uppers!!!! Thanks!!!!
Thank you very much.
@@PawPawsWorkShop ..
My dilema is that I hired a carpenter to make me a bathroom vanity with a top surround, a linen cabinet, a make-up vanity and cupboards for a new laundry room. This started in February and we are rolling into July. He brought the frame for the vanity and the lined cabinet for the bathroom. Just the frame, no doors or drawers. He led us to believe over and over that he I'm finished and was going to deliver and for one reason or another he never came through until he brought just the frames at which time I asked him if he would send me pictures well I did so and called his bluff because he didn't have anything else done. Now he said he does this for fun and it's no longer fun and left us hanging high and in high and dry so here I sit with everything from my bathroom is in my living room and kitchen it's a disaster!! He will no longer communicate with us. So where I need help is wondering if it is even possible to build the drawers now for those cabinetsAnd basically how to finish this up. I have never done anything of this kind kind and I don't even know what tools I need for routering the doors it's only way that you can give me guidance or help? Please? I have also ordered custom marble top for the single sink vanity and the make up vanity. This guy really left me in the lurch all these months later. I am devastated to tears. You could email me at lflunker@yahoo. com. I can also email the pictures to you that he was going off of so you have a better understanding what I'm talking about. Thank you!!
My 15 year old son and I have been making Adirondack chairs and picnic tables and selling them. I used to build toolsheds for a local company but corona made that stop so we started small. Point is we want to start building toolsheds and this basic design will work perfect as an “extra” that we can offer with the sheds. This video series, this video the drawer video and the door fronts is exactly what I needed. Thank you very much. God bless
Awesome! Send me pictures of the toolsheds you want to build along with the adirondack chairs and tables. I would love to see your work. I'm glad that my videos helped you.

Paw Paw Thank You for a well made video. There are a lot of videos on RUclips, but few are as well laid out and informative as yours. My wife has tasked me with building a new bathroom cabinet. This will be my first attempt at building one, but after watching your video I’m confident I’ll successfully accomplish this task. Happy Wife = Happy Life. Thank You Again Sir. I look forward to following your channel.
Thank you very much.
So how did that cabinet turn out?
@@leftofpunk Well let’s just say it was obvious it was my first attempt. Lol!!! Wasn’t bad, but not exactly how I had hoped either.
@@BarkingIron you did something and that is what is important.

All of my building instruction has come from RUclips. This video could be used as a model for any how-to tutorial. Great shot selection, pace and instructions in the voice over! I can't wait to build a cabinet!
Awesome! Good luck to you. This is the easiest design that I can think of for anyone just beginning in woodworking.
Don't let these negative people get you down. Nice work.
Thank you for your comments. I can not allow negative people into my life. I do my projects the way I think will help the most people. If some do not agree or dislike it, that's OK
I really like how he enforces the footing and also provides support for the bottom plates, in a single adjustment. Wonderfull!
Thank you very much.
This is the only cabinet tutorial I’ve found that made me fully understand the process, i think because you took your time and not only explained what you’re doing, but why you’re doing it in relation to the project as a whole. Thanks PawPaw youre the man!!
Awesome! You are amazing. Because of people like you I keep making these videos. Thank you very much. Please like and share. I really appreciate it.
Mr. Paw Paw I used your video for a video presentation in my drafting class, my teacher liked it, thanks so much.😊😊😊
That is awesome! I'm so glad that you used the video and I'm glad that the teacher liked it.
I was going to dado for the bottom shelf...your way much better, quicker, easier and more support. You just saved me a lot of time.
Thank you very much.
Yes, I like that very much, and makes for a great spacer. I usually just butt nail them in place.

Thankyou for this. No experience but custom made cabinets for my ambulance
That's awesome. You're welcome
Thank you for this video. I now have the Confident to build one for the first time.
I'm thinking of having my face frame 2 and a half wide though. I also like that fact that you added a piece of wood for support for your base. No dados. Much easier the way you did it.👍
You can do it! Awesome!
Great build. I like the simplicity of the construction.
Thank you very much. This was designed as an entry level hobbiest wanting to get started building cabinets.
Really a nice professional instructional Video Sir, straightforward and step by step easy to follow. Thanks very much for posting this
You are very welcome
Thanks so much for this video Paw Paw. I gutted one of our bathrooms last month and making the vanity base from your design. I love the KISS principal! Thanks for your great videos and expert explanations! I glued up some cherry boards to make one end panel of the vanity that will be seen. The other end will be against a wall. When complete I'll try and send you a picture. And thanks for your service.
Awesome!! I would love to see pictures.
Thank you sir! very good step by step video build a cabinet made simple!

Great teacher, you made it look so easy.
Thank you very much
Thank you for this. It is much simpler (and stronger) to use those nailers for the bottoms of the cabinets instead of dados. It makes me wonder why anyone uses dados.
My pleasure
Love the spacer idea.
Great thank you
great job... your videos helped me out a lot... keeping it simple and very knowledgeable... thanks again...
You're welcome. I glad that it helped you.
Thanks a lot The way you explain it makes easy to understand Again thank you!
You are welcome!
Thank you so much for your detailed instructions. Thank you for explaining how and why, I built a cabinet yesterday guessing sizes and nothing lines up so knowing the sizes is priceless.
Awesome! You're welcome. I'm glad that it helped you.
Thanks for your video! I want to build a simple set of cabinets for my garage. Thought about buying pre-made from Home Depot / Lowes, however the materials were really inferior (particle board) and are poorly constructed. I will add glue to all joints as I will paint the cabinets.
Thank you, this is a very simple way to build cabinets very quickly. You are right, I would agree that the store bought cabinets are poor quality
Always. Glue. Your. Joints.
And good luck on your project.
Love it when someone isn’t afraid to use stuff from Harbor Freight.
lol. I have a mixture of tools from many different manufacturers.
Paw Paw’s WorkShop I do too. It’s the man behind the tool that makes results.
Thank you very much. That is a true statement
I LOVE harbor freight ❤️❤️❤️
Another Harbor Freight fan here! I bought U.S. General toolboxes there and they are spectacular! I mounted them in my work trailer and they have stood the test of time through being jarred around inside a work trailer.
This is the easiest way to build cabinets. Simple and very well explained. I am using your model for mine.ty v much!!👍
Glad it helped. Thank you very much.
Paw Paw, Felicitaciones! 👍👏👏👏 excelente vídeo, muy bien explicado, no entiendo mucho el Inglés, pero el paso a paso es muy claro. Quedó maravilloso, saludos y a cuidarse mucho en estos tiempos de encierro. Bye bye 😉🙋♀️
Thank you very much. I appreciate it very much.
Very cool for kitchen cabinets as well....
Yes! Same exact method is used for the cabinets. You get it. Thank you!
Lol. Lol thank you so much I just learned about pneumatic nailers 😂😂😂😂 all this time I was drilling and hammering and I know it's all in perfect timing like the build being halted os making me pay so much more attention to detail and actual integrity in the frame. But hammering isn't really the issue, it's drilling the hole to the nail size
Thank you for sharing with us awesome job.
Thank you very much.
Have you ever considered rabbit cutting the ends to joint with the deck? Would eliminate notching for all toe kicks. The sleepers would end up being the real support anyways.
Yes, I do that on many projects. This cabinet was designed specifically to be very simple and easy to build without special techniques. Thank you so much for your suggestion
Forgive me if you have already answered this. I assume you have built these many times before. I was wondering if you have had any failures in joints because of only using nails in stead of wood glue and screws? Most would say that glue is necessary. Interested in finding out if anything you have made thus far using this method has not held up? Thank you sir!
I have NEVER had a failure of the face frame building this way. That's no to say that it can't happen and also it could happen even if it were glued together.
@@PawPawsWorkShop Wonderful, I love this method! Thank you sir for your videos and your response! I pray you and your family are well after all these storms. You are in your prayers! God bless you sir!
You're welcome
Thank you for a clear and informative video. Would have like to see attaching the drawers fronts and pulls. Probably not rocket science but have seen different techniques depending on the pulls.
Thank you very much. I have done several videos on the drawers.
what's hilarious is that this is so simple and easy anyone can do it, yet better constructed than most cabinet companies.
Thank you very much. You are exactly right.
You make great videos. Very helpful!!!
Thank you very much. I'm glad that you like them.
+1 for the Harbor Freight Tools!

I'm trying to learn how to make cabinets. Yours is easy to learn and follow. Thank you.. New sub
Awesome! Thank you very much.
- Each time I watch your videos, I learn something more. Thanx.
Awesome, I can't hope for anything more. Thank you
I’m looking at different videos on cabinet making for my project house and ran across yours. You have a very nice and simple build. Easy to follow and shows some great principles. I’ve noticed everyone using the pocket hole jig on most videos. Seems I’ll have to get one too. Lol. You might end up seeing me use some of your method in one of my future videos. I’ll be sure to link yours when I do. Thanks paw paw. New sub here.
Awesome! Thank you very much. I use different methods depending on the project and the audience
Esta enseñanza es mucho interés lo felicito por dar esa gran orientación
I don't like that gig tool for drilling the face frame holes. I use a 5/16 spade bit and a 1/8 x 6" pilot bit. Also I have 4 face frame clamps (Fox/Woodstock?) that hold the face frame parts tight and flush. Fantastic. And not the fandangled orange ones. These are gray aluminum, about 12" long.
Very good video...thsnks for sharing👍👍👍
My pleasure. I’m glad that you enjoyed it.
Very nice work! I have wanted to build my own bathroom cabinets, since most are MDF and overpriced, and look cheap. Why not use wood glue?
Wood glue is excellent to use. I have had this asked several times in the comments below. This was to simply my process to video.

Awesome! Congratulations on building the shop cabinets.
Great video one of the best, awesome work!
Wow, thanks!
do you have a video on what tools you use for cabinet making or do you have recommendations on the best table saw to start out with?
You want to get the best table saw that you can afford. It also depends on whether or not this is just a hobby or is it going to be more. I like powermatic and sawstop. Those are more of the high end. The DeWalt and the Hercules from Harbor Freight are both good entry level saws.
Great work Sir.
Thank you very much
Very simple and and good instruction for the viewer. I enjoyed watching.

@@PawPawsWorkShop seriously though, you have a gift and are a very talented craftsman. I plan to watch and share more of your videos! Well doe
Thank you very much for your support. I really appreciate it very much.
I’d be interested in knowing why you do not use glue for any of your joints? I have experienced mails and staples loosen up over time creating a wobbly cabinet... like ikea made it. You definitely know something that I do not know.
This cabinet was designed as a easy simple build. Glue does adds an extra step. Also, the nails are coated with a glue. When you shoot them into the wood, the heat activates the glue. The cabinet should not loosen up over time especially when using plywood. Solid wood cabinet will have more opportunity for movement. Different construction methods would be required.
Awesome thanks great video!!
Glad you liked it!
Hello
I now you do wonderful work
But we need sizes more detail on paper is more easy that is one important think
Thanks for your videos.
Thanyou
There are basic measurements for cabinets. This one was a custom size to fit a specific condition as well as a very unusual plumbing issue.
So i thought oh thats nice looking, and seems somewhat simple in thw way its constructed surly thus is a video for beginners needing guidence..........next minute a casual saw protruding from a table top slices through the sheet of wood........clearly a person with tools like that beast are quiet capable
While a table saw is an important tool and is the center piece for most shops, you can still accomplish this build with a circular saw in place of the table saw.
Can u also use this design for a kitchen build? thanks for the great video!
Yes, you can use this basic design. You're welcome

For a rank amateur like me it would be helpful if you mentioned to dimensions of the wood. What is the thickness of the pieces, of the plywood, etc.
The plywood used is 3/4”

Hi, looks like this is the method I’ll be using to build my vanity. What height is a standard vanity unit with the basin sitting on top of the counter top please🙏🏻
The height of vanities have been changing in recent years. I would suggest to make it a comfortable height for you. I would also not going over a 36” working height
